great burgers, good prices -- work on those fries!. the texas hamburger company is by far the best hamburger purveyor in san antonio. by far. even though their patties are cooked on the flat top like most other burger establishments, the way they cook them is so unbelievably flavorful. and all their burgers, from the bacon cheeseburgers to their swiss mushroom burgers, are incomparable to other burger places'. their fries need working on (perhaps consulting with casino el camino in austin [who make the best fries ever] is in order?), but you can taste that they're made from fresh potatoes instead of from a frozen, premade batch.
so much is made of chris madrid's and i find their burgers wanting, lifeless, and bland. texas hamburger company knocks chris madrid's out of the water with their outstanding burgers and does so in a much more comfortable, aesthetically pleasing environment. you don't have to shoo away an army of flies while eating here, nor do you have to be stuck in the sweltering humidity in the middle of summer like you would at chris madrid's. if i could change one thing about the texas hamburger company, it'd be that they be open on sundays! the texas hamburger company would be absolutely perfect to go to after sunday worship services!
oh yeah, and work on getting those fries crispier!
