i had been to the teapotcafeafter having read a lot about their blueberry cheesecake. so i and a friend went there hoping to have some good or atleast decent blueberry cheesecake since there weren't much places where good blueberry cheesecakes were available.
to start with the blueberry part of the blueberry cheesecake, there was nothing more than a dash of blueberry sauce on the cheesecake. to say that there was even a dash of it would be an overstatement considering there was just a purple tint of it on the cake slice as opposed to good sauce that one would expect. coming to the cake, the first bite tasted like curd that's gone bad. upon digging further into it, we realized that no cheese (cream cheese or cheese of any other kind) had gone into it's making. it tasted like yogurt cake with a dash of blueberry sauce( we had in the meantime asked the waiter if they'd be able to add a little more sauce to the top of the cake, which they obviously declined, which brings me to the last part of this "best" cheesecake hunt ordeal). so at this point, we're having bad curd with a dash of blueberry sauce and soggy crust.
at the counter, having met the owner (or the manager, not a very sure, a man in his late 50s probably), i told him that we were disappointed with the cake after having come all the way here upon multiple recommendations, the owner/manger was outright rude, angry at what he had heard, and took the chance to redicule me and my friend, telling us that no cheese goes into the making of the cheesecake, that only curd goes into it (since we had told him it tasted of curd gone bad. although upon confirming with a chef friend we realized that paneer can be used, but no way on earth is cheesecake made with curd). he spent the next 3 mins telling us that this was the right way of making cheesecakes. but when we went ahead to tell him that we'd checked the recipe and had confirmed from a chef friend about cheesecakes tasting like bad curd, he told us that this was how he made cheesecakes so it didn't matter to him(slow claps at your defence of your blueberry curd cake).
bottom line: don't go there for the cheesecake, not worth it. and after talking to this person, customer service/client- staff interaction is also questionable.
