tapavino

after reading the rave reviews about tapavino, i was excited about sampling the menu when friends and i arrived for our 7pm reservation on may 3. unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming.

to say the place is bustling on a friday night is an understatement. when at capacity, the acoustics of the confined upstairs dining room make it difficult to converse with your companions without raising your voice to a ridiculous level.

during the meal, i sampled the crab, avocado and chilli tostado ($14), the stuffed piquillo peppers with smoked mackrel ($13) and the jamon, baby beetroot and goat's cheese ($16). i personally found the flavours a bit bland and unbalanced, but the dishes were far more enjoyable than my salty dessert experience. i opted for the chocolate terrine, olive oil and salt flake ($12) - a decision i can still taste 12 hours later. basically, it was far too salty and akin to indulging in a chocolate lick block.

on the liquid side of the equation, my three friends and i all agreed tapavino's red sangria lacked any real punch, which was disappointing after a long day at work. that said, the wine menu is exhaustive, and even the most hard-to-please wine buff will find something to tickle their fancy.

it was impossible to fault the service we received during our tapavino experience. our waiter was friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu - something that makes life easy when you and your friends are struggling to make selections.

would i go back? probably not.

good spot for lunch. melbourne wine bar like. energetic vibe, good spanish wine selections, plenty on the menu. sardines were a hit this time. will be back.

what a fantastic restaurant! delicious food and great atmosphere. this would have to be the best spanish restaurant i've been to (and i've been to spain!!)

dinner. had a great night here after vivid, having made a booking, food was excellent. my huge gripe, however, came when ordering coffee after dinner. " we only do coffee for lunch " wtf. spoiled a near perfect evening.

the restaurant felt really warm and intimate in it's upstairs small dining area. the wine selection was impressive, almost too many to choose from. we ended up having quite a few bottles of red wine from spain and they were fabulous. the nibbles were tapas style in small serving, perfectly complement the wines. if you are into old world wines especially red , this place is worth checking out!

this place had been on my list forever, with so many positive reviews, expectations were very high. it was not as busy as expected for a saturday night, there were plenty of tables available upstairs where we got seated. the service was friendly & prompt. they also had a good selection of drinks. the food though was some what hit & miss. loved the spanner crab, prawn & sweet corn “bolas” tapa; the jamon serrano on the charcuterie board was also great. on the other hand, the mallorquina, like a sticky chorizo filling without the sausage skin, was heavy & hard to eat. also not sold on the fried egg in with the mushrooms side. the “chicken wings” were more just frenched mini drumettes. overall was ok, maybe if the place was busier the atmosphere would be more exciting.

tapavino is a beautiful and vibrant sherry/tapas bar in circular quay which offers a mind-bogging list of cocktails, jerez, tapas and cured meats. the sherry bar features a mesmerizing deep-red interior, floor-to-ceiling wine bottles and distinct wooden beams

i tried the white sangria, braised beef cheeks in vermut and jamon/mushroom tart. each of these three dishes were exquisite. the flaky beef cheeks, drizzled with chickpea purée and gremolata, was soft and flavourful. perhaps it would taste even better if it was more tender and melt in my mouth. the jamon/mushroom tart was stocky and filling and the cured meat was delicious.

disappointing. went about a year ago and it was great. this time we waited 45 minutes for a single tapa and when it finally arrived it was very ordinary. pork so dry it was barely edible - had a bite and left the rest.
it was way overcrowded too. filling it to the brim at the expense of the experience of the customers is pretty shortsighted management.
won't be going a third time.

merhaba buradaki yorumlar üzerine kahvaltı için gittiğimiz mekanda manzara ve kendi yaptıkları ekmekle kruvasan güzeldi. fakat kahvaltı geldikten 20 dakika sonra biz yemeyi yarılamışken ekmeklerin gelmesi ve hala omletin sofrada olmaması güzelliklerin üstünü örttü. omleti 2 defa istedikten sonra kahvaltı bitimine yakın geldi. kahvaltıdaki cevizler kurtlu ve yeşillikler tam yıkanmamış pörsümüştü.çalışanların hizmet hızı yavaştı. ve bu ürünler ile hizmete alınan ücret bir hayli fazla. kişi başı 45 tl. bu ücrete daha iyi yerler olduğu kesin. sadece manzarası için gidilecek biryer değil.

denize karşı yapılabilecek en güzel kahvaltı bence. çeşiti son derece bol ve her biri lezzetli. isterseniz bittiginde yenisini de getiriyorlar üstelik. biraz pahali evet ama gerek ambiansi gerek müzikleri şahane. bence bu civarda gidilebilecek iyi yerlerden şiddetle tavsiye edilir.

havalar yavaş yavaş ısınsa da artık sahilde denizin havasını içimize çeke çeke otursak keyfimize baksak. i̇şte sizler için öyle bir mekandan bahsedeceğim. i̇zmir mekan rehberi' nin davetiyle mekan gezginleri olarak i̇zmir güzelbahçe de henüz 6 ay önce açılmış olan yeni bir mekanda menü tadımındaydık.

i̇zmirde tapas yapan biyer olduğunu duyunca gidip denemek istedik. yediğimiz herşey güzeldi, bülent bey bizimle şahsen ilgilendi, şef gerçekten çok başarılı çok kendine özgü, sangria çok güzeldi. yeniden görüşeceğimize emininim bu şekilde, mekanı büyütmeden, şubeleşmesen ve elbette ki kaliteyi bozmadan devam ederler umarım ?

güzelbahçe'de denize karşı yemek veya oturmak için son derece hoş bir terası var. ambiansı çok iddialı olmamakla beraber zevkli dekore edilmiş bir mekan. şüphesiz burası güzel havalar için uygun. i̇şletmenin sahibi de son derece güler yüzlü.

fiyatları makul. yemeklerin porsiyonları doyurucu olmakla birlikte malzemede herhangi bir pintilik yok. menünün çok kalabalık olmaması, var olan seçeneklerin kalitesini artırmakta. yalnız bazen ortalıkta garson bulamamak gibi sorun olabiliyor.

deniz kenarında hoş bir ambiansa sahip güzel bir mekan. mantar soslu bonfilenin tadı ise biraz yağlı olmasının dışında harikaydı. çalışanlara ilgisiz diyen yorumlar olmasına rağmen biz tam tersini hissettik, ilgili ve samimiydiler. müziklerdeki i̇spanyol ezgileri ortama tam bir uyum sağlamış. hoş vakit geçirmek için tercih edebileceğiniz bir mekân.
