we went to talula’s last saturday to celebrate my and my good friend’s birthdays. i already want to go back for my anniversary! one of the most enjoyable and delicious meals i’ve ever had. our server, corey, was professional, fun and ‘just right ‘, in terms of attentiveness. we opted for à la carte, but someday would love to splurge on the 8 course tasting menu for the table! for appetizers, we shared the fried oysters and the chicken liver mousse.... both amazing. i had the striped bass for dinner, with spring peas and couscous. we also kept getting little “gifts” from the kitchen! a brioche that melted in your mouth, a lovely cheese sampling.. and 2 beautifully scripted happy birthday plates with 4 perfect salted caramel squares and a candle! the restaurant andgardenare beautiful, too! i love the floating orchid boxes on the rear wall, the art everywhere, the lighting... even the restrooms were beautiful...

we had some pretty incredible cheese plates at talula’sgardenrecently, and we thought we’d share the pictures with you. gusto! a slow food study in rare italian cheese talula’sgardenoffers six different cheese plates that change with the seasons, and this time we decided to try “gusto! a slow food study in rare italian cheese.” this plate was amazing and quite the treat. on the day we were there (it has changed slightly since then), it included: handmade spring ricotta (cow, pa) langa la tur (cow/goat, piedmont) testun al barolo (cow/goat, piedmont) rochetta (cow/goat/sheep, piedmont) parmigiano-reggiano stravecchio (cow, parma) dolcelatte gorgonzola (cow, lombardy) we loved all of these, but here are some notes on our favorites: handmade spring ricotta (cow, pa) – this housemade cheese was a light, fluffy, dream. soft on the tongue, with just a hint of truffle, but not so much truffle as to overpower or overwhelm. i could eat this all day. langa la tur (cow/goat, piedmont) – ok, t

really unique atmosphere and food! a must stop while in philly!. i have to say this is one of my favorite restaurants i have visited in months! so uniquely beautiful and warm feeling inside and out. i love the use of the local freshgardenvegetable and herb uses. i had heard that steven star restaurants were the best bets while in philly and after talking to our concierge, christian at lowe's he said this place would more than please us.

delicious!!! great food concepts! good service! ambience galore!
