a foodie place. went there a week ago and had a delicious meal. first i would say the outside part of the place is beautiful. it definately has that feel of being in someone special garden. the food is more on the sophisticated side but is really good. i had a gnocchi dish with mushrooms and egg yok for sauce i thought was well made. i had sides of roasted beet with ricotta and a kale au gratin. they both were tasty. the protions are on the smaller side but you will not leave hungry. the deserts were fantastic. we had these dognuts with strawberry sauce that were light as pillows and a choclate banna dessert that was like the shit. the prices are on the high side so it is more of a special occasion place if you plan to eat a full meal.

first of all, there is a very wide variety of international cheeses as appetizers. the sea bass entree was excellent, however, it could have been larger or served with vegetables. the desserts were very good, especially the carrot cake. the creme brulee was different than the usual, without the crispy brulee top, but instead served with crumbs and fruit atop. service was excellent.

what a beautiful building and decor. the menu was funky to read and when described by our server made more sense. to start, their brioche with honey and butter was so good; like having dessert first. we shared the brussel sprout flatbread app and it was so delicious and not overly filling. the sea bass was incredible and its pairings were light and not heavy. strip steak was cooked and prepared well. we were comfortably satisfied. the total price with drinks balanced with the quality of food and quantity.

the food here is spectacular! not to mention they serve french press coffee from la colombe that is very good. if you go for brunch you need to try the chai donuts, i am not a fan of chai but they were amazing. we went as soon as they opened so it wasn't crazy busy, but i do recommend reservations. the atmosphere is great very relaxing and the staff is great!

we went to talula’s last saturday to celebrate my and my good friend’s birthdays. i already want to go back for my anniversary! one of the most enjoyable and delicious meals i’ve ever had. our server, corey, was professional, fun and ‘just right ‘, in terms of attentiveness. we opted for à la carte, but someday would love to splurge on the 8 course tasting menu for the table! for appetizers, we shared the fried oysters and the chicken liver mousse.... both amazing. i had the striped bass for dinner, with spring peas and couscous. we also kept getting little “gifts” from the kitchen! a brioche that melted in your mouth, a lovely cheese sampling.. and 2 beautifully scripted happy birthday plates with 4 perfect salted caramel squares and a candle! the restaurant and garden are beautiful, too! i love the floating orchid boxes on the rear wall, the art everywhere, the lighting... even the restrooms were beautiful...

a few months back, i was thinking of places to go for the gf and my anniversary. after passing on the usual suspects, i couldn't believe that we still had not been to talula's garden. this was quickly remedied with a reservation at the enduring (and endearing!) washington square west hotspot. . enchanting and endearing indeed. how gorgeous is the outdoor seating? pennsylvania native aimee olexy gave life to talula's first iteration in the form of a 12-person byob tasting in chester county with talula's garden. reservations were booked for up to 12 months and at one point, talula's table was called the "toughest table in america."

grabbed a freshly made salad with freshly made iced tea and carrot cake for dessert! server suggested blood orange tea and i tried it - delicious. i'm kind of hooked now. the carrot cake was outstanding. the prices were moderate and comparable to other places in the neighborhood. nice ambiance to the place as well. can sit at a table for 2 or 10.

this was our second visit to talula's. the restaurant is warm and inviting and the bar is a great place for a pre-dinner cocktail. of the starters for our party of 5, our favorites were the heirloom tomato, cucumber and bacon salad with a creamy herb dressing and the tuna crudo with a little jalapeno. for supper, the ricotta and butter bean ravioli, seared salmon and the half-chicken with cheese grits, greens and an egg on top were the standouts. and then there are the cheeses! there is an entire cheese menu or you can design your own cheese plate. this is where our server really demonstrated his knowledge and passion; he very patiently answered lots of questions about individual cheeses and made some great recommendations. talula's clearly cares about all of its food and trains its staff very very well. we had a lovely evening, ate delicious food and finished with incredible cheeses.

by far the best restaurant in philadelphia, irrespective of comments. when you go the first time, the menu seems kind of short and you wonder what to order and how it would turn out? but once you start eating, the hesitation goes away. the palate of cheese has to be had every time

this place does not disappoint. unfortunately we didn't get to sit outside, but the inside is almost as beautiful itself. we started off with some great cocktails to go along with our cheese board, which was exactly what we wanted and chosen perfectly for us by our server. for a starter i had the clam toast. basically an open faced sandwich with all the goods that you'd fine in a clam chowder over the top. it was outstanding. my main dish i went with the duck breast, prepared medium rare; chefs recommendation. probably the best duck i've ever eaten. i'd highly recommended going to check this place out. staff was awesome and very knowledgeable about the menus. great experience.

the experience of being here is incredible. a great date location, a great girls night out to sit at the bar, and an absolutely beautiful patio in the warmer months. the cheese plates (and the entire cheese station actually) are incredible and the amount of information that each server can tell you about each cheese makes the experience all the better. the food is delicious - and while yes, the entrees are good, my favorite parts are the appetizers, the side dishes, and the desserts. this place never disappoints and is a great excuse to dress up! (although jeans and a nice top would be okay as well.)

this place is absolutely sensational! i went here twice during my time in philadelphia and firstly the setting is so impressive! it's a big venue with a nice bar area and several seating sections and an outdoor area which was covered in snow when i was there! first visit was for dinner one sunday and it was absolutely fantastic- we were first given beautiful warm bread buns fresh out the oven while we checked out the menu, we went straight for main course and each tried different dishes which were all very unusual- i got a pork belly dish which was garnished with ginger, apples, pomegranate and garlic- very unusual but it worked! my friends got roast chicken and the black pearl salmon each with varying exciting flavours! the wine menu was great as it offered wines from all around the world that can be hard to source in america- i opted for a nz sauvignon which is my fav! we shared a tasting platter of deserts which was also delicious! i also went another time for brunch which came out pretty expensive at 50 each for me and my friend with one cocktail, 1 course each and mini donuts to go! the brunch was nice but i would recommend an evening meal instead!

tucked away next to talula’s daily  and across from washington square park, the restaurant appears like a surprising little gem as you walk into twinkle lights and heat lamps. the night that we went was a bit chilly, so we unfortunately didn’t get to sit in the lit up garden, but the interior of talula’s is incredibly warm and beautiful, so it wasn’t too much of a loss.

the outdoor seating with vines on the walls and overhead, and metallic patio furniture, under the fading yet still bright sunlight, was starkly different from the monochromatic indoor decor with giant lampshades hanging from cathedral ceilings, over velvety cushioned seats. then there was the bar, which seemed the most magical spot of all with its display of handmade birdhouses displayed on a shelf above the liquor bottles; colored and mismatched glass globe lanterns; and mason jars lining the bar, used as both candle holders and drinkware. and there was vena-- who made it all worthwhile
