korean mexican fusion = great food. a small hole-in-the-wall place under tucked under the sacramento freeway. if you are looking for something different, you could certainly do worse, but may have a difficult time finding better for the value. the food has a lot of flavor and menu items not served anywhere else i have dined.

u need to try this place if you are interested in eating at one of the best hits in sactown. very fresh urban eats with a korean twist! price was very reasonable, atmosphere, well i actually digged the old gas station swap into a killer retro comer roll in. i'm in love with sacramento again thanks to spots like this!

i came to check out this restaurant after i had heard about the korean bbq tacos which i love. the thing with korean bbq tacos is that they have become a very trendy food ever since the kogi truck in los angeles. the flavors for the gogi and galbi were pretty good, although mine had a little too much lime juice and it was hard to appreciate any other flavors with that acidity. the 3rd taco i got was the pork which i wasn’t very fond of. overall, not too sure i would go back.

tako korebq. this place is really amazing! it's definately one of my favorite new finds. its kind of hidden under the freeway in comparison to how the rest of downtown/midtown is right in the alhambra triangle down the street from the sacramento natural foods co-op. had a great steak burrito bowl there with chicken tacos the first time i ever experienced it. the portions are kind of small unless you get the buritto but thats how i like my food. the second time i got the burrito and that was plenty for me they dress the steak entrees with this purple sauce and verde sauce. it's kind of weird looking when you first see it, but every time i've went since, the only reaction i get from it any more is watering at the mouth. i think they have probably one of the friendliest staffs i've ever experienced, downtown, in my life. although pieces might edge them out a little. please give them a try i know korean mexican fusion might sound weird at first, but if you like good food, friendly people and interesting locations, you'll love tako.

sweet tacos, no bueno. i was very excited to try the korean bbq tacos at tako. first, let me say that the place looked great and the service was excellent. however, the food was not. the tacos were way too sweet. they didn't make sense with the corn tortilla. i may have had a better experience had i gotten a rice bowl. i've only gone once, and maybe i should give the place a second chance. it is a cool little place.

saucey - in a really bad way. we were so excited to have a new fusion joint so close to home - until we went. we ordered short rib tacos and pork tacos - both meats were cooked earlier in the day and were served stone cold and congealed in a slightly warmed tortilla and drowning in sauces. when we told one of the employees the food wasn't hot, she slammed a bottle of hot sauce on the table and walked away. we also ordered the kimchee quesadilla which was warm all the way through but so covered in sauce as to be unrecognizable. the biggest problems at tako korean bbq all involved execution - i suspect if the person who created the menu were the person there cooking it we would have had a different experience. as it was we were tremendously disappointed and won't be back.

this past week, the old gas station re-opened as tako korean bbq, serving korean tacos, burritos, and rice bowls. i waited in line two days in a row as people poured into the tiny restaurant to try out their menu offerings, and it was well worth my wait when i had my first bite of their tofu tacos.
