blend of passion and precision. muffin and i got to switch after about 8 hours travelling and though we weren't famished, we were definitely ready for something delicious. we were recommended this place by someone at the hotel (she even repeated it after i informed her we were kind of foodies and really wanted something great.)
we were a little worried about how large and diverse themenuwas, though in hind-sight we were mistaken.
we started with crispy risotto croquettes, the day's flavor was lemon asparagus. lightly breaded with a lemon garlic aioli. creamy soft inside. we were well on our way in to a great meal.
then a couple of sandwiches. muffin was hankering for a burger, so she went with the cowboy burger. well balanced, little tang from the bbq sauce, burger cooked perfectly. i went with the southern dump truck. chicken thighs, homemade pickles, vidalia onion jam and more. it was either going to be really good or really bad. again my fears were misplaced. what a great blend of flavors and textures.
about the only disappointment was the side of mac and cheese. it seemed like a slight upgrade from velveeta shells and cheese. we were curious as to why the same person who made pickles from scratch had decided on such a simple mac and cheese. that's when we discovered (from talking to our friendly server) that the real way to experience the dish was with bacon or chicken and then baked (that is there entree version). now it all made sense.

all in all, a great meal in which you could taste the chef's desire to serve up delicious food prepared with care/

one of the better 'gathering spots' downtown.  the perfect spot for drinks and a light meal prior to a night on the town. a well executedmenuthat offers plenty of options without being overwhelming. the 'must try'- the seared salmon with polenta

going to brunch? "switch" it up!. brunch at switch is where it's at! tried switch on the recommendation of some friends and went there with a small group for sunday brunch. the place was busy, music was playing and people were bustling about everywhere as we walked in. the atmosphere was very contemporary, but average dress was quite casual. even though we were a bit sandwiched at the back of the room next to several other groups in a make-shift arrangement of small tables, we got seated quickly and were rather comfortable. the brunchmenuhad a good selection of items with popular names, but each one had switch's own welcome twist. drink specials included mini-carafes (approximately 2 glasses each) of mimosas, cape cods, screwdrivers and bloody mary's for $4-$6 each and they all tasted very good, especially the bloody mary and the mimosas. my wife and i tried the fruit crepes and the house chilaquiles, while the rest of the group indulged in the huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos and breakfast mac 'n cheese. serving sizes were generous, but not too big. everyone enjoyed their dishes wholeheartedly and we all ate our plates clean. i got a chance to try a couple of the items besides my own and i really liked the variety of textures and flavors they presented. the only complaint we had was that some of the "hot" dishes arrived a bit on the cool side (though still warm in the center), likely from sitting as the staff waited to bring all the entrees out at once. our pleasant server always seemed to drop by just as we ran out of drinks and while there were a few times we had to wait to get something, it was obvious that the staff was very busy handling the rush of fellow brunch fans, so the small delays were completely understandable. all in all, it was a pleasant experience and we are highly considering making this a monthly brunch stop just to "switch" it up! recommended.

lacking execution. this is one of those places that has an extensivemenuwith lots of items that sound great but just don't seem to turn out. i have been 3 times, the first two thinking maybe i just ordered the wrong thing.

most recently i had the jalisco chicken. the description said "grilled chicken." i inquired with the server if this was in fact a breast ofrwas it deli meat. he said that it was a grilled chicken breast that had been sliced. no, it was actually chicken deli meat that had been heated up. it had a very odd flavor. i also ordered the pistachio couscous which was very dry had little flavor and just some crushed up nuts on top. switch has a cute atmosphere but my sandwich, couscous and tea were not worth the 18 dollars it cost me.
