my usual place ;~). i love sweetwater for their "wood grilled filet mignon" with side thin french fries. i am a very picky carnivore and tried steak at many many different places. for numerous reasons i have been going back to sweetwater for my meet.
i love my filet medium rear, tender, and naked (no sauce). it is how my filet has been served every time i ordered in sweetwater. it is smooth to cut, little chewy but dissolves in your mouth. the flavor from the wood grill is neither too intense nor non-existing, simply very balanced. every bite is a very pleasing experience for me which even got me in trouble with my girlfriend. she gets jealous about the fact that i close my eyes while i am chewing some bites and according to her, i step into a different dimension. i have no conscious knowledge of my actions described by her.
sweetwater actually is a "tavern" where their own beer is brewed at the premises which, can be seen at the entrance on the right side. sweetwater offers 5 beers on tap every season. any kind of beer from a pale ale to a lager, wheat beer to an english style brown ale can be found depending on the season however, there is beer that will satisfy you any given time.
people in sweetwater in sterling are mostly very friendly and professional. i usually drink and dine at the bar where, bartenders are open for little chit chat or even some deep discussions unless you are deep in alcohol. they address you with your name and observe to see if you need anything. their waterfront, outside bar is awesome for summer, spring, and sunny fall happy hours. on the other hand, their outside dining area which also happens to have anicewater view is very suitable for an exciting first date or a romantic anniversary. especially the sunsets are very eye pleasing - sunglasses are almost mandatory.
please do not just act according to what you read here. go personally to see, feel, and taste. you are the one who would know yourself the best.
