sullivan's steakhouse

went today for downtown restaurant week with some friends. had reservations for 7:30pm, had to wait to be seated for about 15-20 minutes. our waitress staci, was very informative about the menu, very polite and attentive. ourfoodcame out in a timely fashion and was very tasty. one of my friends had the salmon and she said she thoroughly enjoyed it. i'm funny about bread pudding, yet this banana bread pudding was amazing. everything about it was right. i will definitely be going back.

what a great night i had at sullivan's. they have live music. i went for a birthday dinner and the staff was amazing. everyone congratulated her on her birthday and we even got a picture printed. thefoodwas amazing. they have an affordable menu. i'll be back.

nice. now i wouldn't say this is the best place for a steak but if you're downtown raleigh, it just might be. i was really impressed with the girl at the bar (gen). she seemed to be very personable and knew her stuff. while later, our waitress was great but did start to slack near the end. thefoodcame out a little slower than i would have liked. however, i did see them wising around trying to get everything done. overall, i'd give this place a 7 out of 10. score would have been higher if the service was a little more personable like the girl at the bar.

go elsewhere!. knew it was a mistake the moment we walked in. the music was so loud we had to shout to order. when the live music in the bar started, no one turned off the 50's and 60's music in the dining room. thefoodwas not fresh, the steaks were raw in the middle and over cooked and too salty on the outside. we were pressured to order cocktails as soon as the waiter came over to us - as well as throughout the meal. $125 for wine isn't enough? the staff stood around flirting with each other, while we waited for our next course. we will never return! there are too many other restaurants that understand service and good food. it was an expensive ($300) lesson for us.

they have a lively bar in front with music that was great. a main dining room with black table cloths and a large wine cellar under glass.

my husband and i had dinner in july 2012 getting seated right away on a thursday night without a reservation.
we passed on the wine cellar since we dont drink wine and had a cocktail instead. i had the red high heels which was delicious!

the menu ranges from steaks to seafoodwith some chef specials. most things are served a la carte and they also have topping options for steaks.
we booth choose steaks with a gorgonzola butter sauce that were perfectly cooked and delicious! we also shared a side of fabulous au gratin potatoes and had left overs. in fact everything we had from the bread at the beginning to the cheesecake for dessert was absolutely wonderful!
the service was friendly, attentive and excellent!

great wine list!. sullivan's is great fun. the bar area is comfortable, supurb for people watching and very lively and crowded at peak times. the dining room feel intimate, somehow, but masculine as might be expected at a steak house. it seems like i've always ordered seafoodwhen i've been here, and i'm happy to report that it was excellant. i've been here several times with all sized groups (men and women) at all times of day/night. service andfoodis good. wine list is excellant. and it's always a good night out at sullivan's. great dining experience.

ok food. thefoodat sullivans is better than "bar food" but the only night i recommend going is when they have live music.

definitely an expensive affair, but i think you're paying for the great atmosphere and food. very romantic spot with an amazing wine list. wait staff is a little snooty, but if you're older and look like you've got money i'm sure you'll be fine.foodwas good and desert was amazing!!! try the mushrooms!

wonderful anniversary dinner. went for my anniversary back in may. service was wonderful &foodwas delicious. hubby loved the french onion soup...go figure. overall, it beats that other steak place. :)

off night for service butfoodwas good. i would give the a second chance to get the service right. loved the bananas fosters bread pudding. it's bananas !

love the desserts.

my husband and i are visiting austin tonight for my birthday. we found sullivan's through urbanspoon & thoroughly enjoyed it! greatfood& service! we would definitely come back.

had a great dinner at sullivan's last evening. the service was terrific. nickie our waitress was great and of course the steaks were fantastic. wine is a little pricey, however, the quality of thefoodmakes up for it.
