hands down best thai in whangarei.
from the kind and friendly staff to the amazing food - i’ve never had a bad experience and have been going to sukjaithai for years because of this.
the panang sukjaiis amazing, the tom yum soup is never enough - we have had almost every item on the menu and haven’t come across anything we wouldn’t order again.

our first time at sukjaicelebrating our wedding anniversary, i was passing and decided to take a menu pamphlet. the food looked great so we decided to make a booking. excellent service and very attentive and so polite,the food was spectacular and full of flavour. this is our fave place, the price of food isnt expensive at all. we cant wait to share this wonderful dining experience with friends and family very soon. thankyou sukjaithai.

having eaten thai food all over the world, i can honestly say that sukjaithai is up there with the best.

as a result of a business trip in whangarei, this thai restaurant was recommended as one of many options for dinner. after checking out the reviews below, and taking each review on its own merit, the 'proof was definately in the pudding' so to speak.

first impressions; the place was almost full. i was lucky to get the last table (this on a wednesday night at 7pm). always a good sign when a restaurant is full of diners.

pricing - about the going rate in comparison to other thai restaurants i've eaten at.

service - friendly, quick. what every diner would like.

quality - absolutely beautiful! i had the mixed entree (money bags, chicken skewer, thai cakes and sorry but can't remember the name of the last one). for my main, i had one of the duck stir fries with rice. devine! and a couple of singha's. total price - $42.50.

quantity - i walked feeling very full, content and very happy.

overall, i would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. well done sukjaithai. keep up the good work and well see you next time i'm in whangarei.

we visited this thai restaurant when on business from auckland at the end of last year and sorry i haven't written my review sooner. this is a fantastic thai spot for lunch or dinner.
there were four of us for dinner.
the place was pretty busy and filling up fast, but luckily we were able to get a table immediately.
the service while a little slow in the hectic environment was unfailingly polite, friendly and we didn't care about how long things took as the service was just so nice.
we had beer and entrees followed up by our mains.
every single meal was delicious and there was nothing to fault with the food.
i wouldn't hesitate to come back, and would absolutely recommend others give sukjaithai a go. you may find it a busy hectic environment to dine in, but it adds to the fun and the entertainment.
all the other diners around us looked as happy as we were and there were smiles all around.

what a big disappointment. i've been dining and buying take-outs from sukjaisince they opened. they closed recently (for renovations they say) so was looking forward to them reopening, which they did on monday. me and hubby were looking forward to our thai fix on tuesday night, only to find our usual pad thai had totally changed. i noticed it immediately when we went to pick up our dinner. i looked at it and said "it's different", the guy behind the counter said what's different, i said this ain't the same pad thai i've been buying all this time. he explained that they had a new chef and that i would like it even more. well i didn't, in fact it was the worst one i've had yet. why would you change something that worked so well?? need to find me a new thai restaurant. damn

four of us went to sukjai22.2.12 and we all had different entrees/soups and mains. we all sampled each others and every single meal was superb. their soups are a must to try.we have spent quite a lot of time in thailand and never had better than this.
the service was excellent, the surroundings pleasant, and all for $120 for the four of us.
this was a second time for us at suk jai's and i know that we will become regulars.

sukjaiis the best thai food i have had in whangarei or anywhere else for that matter! lovely fresh tasting ingredients. flavours refined. very friendly and efficient service. can't recommend highly enough.
