sugarcane raw bar grill

good food, poor drink service. overall i like the place, however, there's one big problem. my friend and i both ordered beer, right after sitting down. it was sunday evening and theplacewas half-empty. it took 20 minutes for our beer to arrive. the waitress apologized, telling us the the bar was always backed up, due to the fact that their "signature cocktails" took a long time to make and kept the bartenders very busy. we ordered beer. imagine how long we would have waited on a saturday night. mr. owner, are you listening, hire another bartender. you're losing sales and alienating your customers.

the wait staff, although willing to please, seemed really inexperienced , poorly trained and completely without supervision on the floor. theplaceis like a boat with no captain on deck.

food was very good, but not great. we ordered a broad sample of smaller plates.

i liked the ambiance, music and the overall vibe.

the problem with miami food scene. i don't go places to be seen. i know food. and thisplaceis everything hat is wrong with the culinary world these days.

oh you love it? you're part of the problem.

not every experience is the same. i gave thisplacea 2nd and 3rd try.

but it is not good. and to say it is, is mainly the reason the culinary world has be bastardized in miami.

very eclectic menu but has your standard fare (sushi sashimi). ask for the specials as i had the "head cheese"... don't ask but it was excellent. service not the most efficient but overall a pleasurable experience.

this is the newplaceto go in mid town. ambiance is great and the food is fantastic.

delicious and gorgeous visually. theplaceis very tropical colonial, cozy and welcoming. the dates are a must! we also had brussells sprouts, lobster sugarcane roll that was luscious, shrimp, skirt steak, and outstanding short ribs. desserts could have been more interesting. the service was just ok, but the food made up for it!

beautifulplaceto see and be seen, but it unfortunately ends there. the drinks are too expensive, the dishes are not specific to any cuisine and not that delicious. just a fusion of i don't know what.

i was just in miami visiting a friend for a few days and having my priorities straight i traded days at the beach for food. seriously weather was not that great but since i love food and miami has a lot to offer in that area it was perfect. since my friend knows me well, she recommended a fewplacefor me to try, one of them was sugarcane. the restaurant is located in the wynwood/edgewater area and is easily accessible from the downtown area  or south beach.

sugarcane is part of samba brands management which also manages bocce and sushi samba. its ambience and outdoor bar has made it the best gatheringplacein midtown. we suggest you order “family style” so you can all share small plates and enjoy a wide array of specialties that range from sushi and oysters to meat, and waffle & duck. sugarcane is also known for its wide rum selection.

theplaceis just magnificent...every little corner is incredible... the food is good but not as special as theplaceitself ;-)) worth the visit

if you've ever been to barcelona thisplacewill bring you right back to those nights of great food and drinks, relaxing ambiance yet fun atmosphere, and tapas style dishes to share.  their strawberry balsamic cocktail is one of the best drinks i've ever had; the taste was toooo on point- you could taste all of the flavors without the over powering flavor of the alcohol, yet when you stood up you knew there was plenty of alcohol in the drink.  we shared a variety of plates and you can't go wrong with the bacon-wrapped dates (i don't even like dates but i loved these) and the brussel sprouts!  all of the fish in our sushi was very tasty and fresh! can't wait to be back in miami just so i can go here!

great experience. thisplacewas pretty outstanding. we had a variety of tapas. the chicken meatballs and scallops with farro and fresh peas are worth mentioning, and their simple grilled corn-on-the-cob was excellent.

service was also great, and their outdoor seating area is a comfortableplaceto hang out, drink and eat.

loved it!. great food and drinks. bestplacewe ate in miami hands down.

overall, i truly enjoyed my brunch at sugarcane. i love the inventiveness of the chefs and bartenders. several of the brunch items are old school favorites with a new school twist. the drinks were refreshing and interesting. the items are fresh and cooked to order. the items are brought out as they’re ready in no particular order. this is one of the few places that i always recommend when someone is looking for a fun and differentplaceto go to,

the food is great. the ambience is awesome. the drinks are delish. but it's waaaaay overpriced. still, it's a niceplaceto bring a date. come not hungry cuz the portions are tiny.

good food, cute waiters!. i went for the first time with my mother early on a saturday night (7.30ish) w/o reservations and we got seated right away. we started off with delicious refreshing cocktails; the service was relatively fast and i really liked how they serve the tapas 2-3 at the time so your table isn't too crowded with food. definitely to try the bacon wrapped dates and the goat cheese croquettes!! the sashimi was also extremely fresh and tasty. a bit of a disappointment in the short ribs that weren't as tender as we had hoped. the atmosphere is young and lively, with a modern vibe. overall, a greatplacei'd definitely go back to! but if you sit outside in the summer bring tons of off!

it's definitely aplacefor drinks dinner rather than serious contemplation of food
