we've been going to sublime every trip to goa. this time honestly, the food wasgoodbut this place just lost 6 of their loyal customers. not only we were served super late but no body was present at the floor to attend us, we had to go inside to ask for plates. the food that was promised to us did not come as expected. the waiting staff asked us themselves if they should split our steak in six portions and gave us 1 cold steak and then disappeared again. the prawn risotto had only 2 prawns and we're bland.

literally the worst meal i’ve ever had. went here for a special occasion - we were seated outside, which was pretty but were bitten to death by mosquitos to begin with. waiters didn’t get us menus or glasses for water for agood20 minutes. we finally ordered - server was clueless about the menu options and availability. we then waited over an hour for our food - in asking the hostess, she was rude and rolled her eyes at us, didn’t apologize and kept telling us to be patient. starters came mostly cold, dynamite shrimp was tempura that was completely soggy - so gross. the pork dumplings were overcooked and the veggie taco was tasteless to say the least. the mains didn’t come for 1.5 hours from ordering at which we left (it was past 11 pm at this point). went home hungry after a truly disappointing experience with zero apology or acknowledgement from the hostess or servers. all in all - super rude staff, very loooong wait times for cold food that’s not worth it. definitely skip this place!

have been visiting #sublime ever since it was first set up at morning, at every yearly visit to goa. now it's moved to a beautiful portuguese villa in assagaon and thegoodnews is it will be open year round! started with perfectly cooked beef; medium rare starter along with a fig and strawberry mixed salad. had the very interesting chorizo crusted sea bass and pork belly for main course. had some lovely white wine really wanted to try a dessert but was bursting and unfortunately had to skip. reallygoodtime! always look forward to my next visit.

so we heard so much about sublime and today when we finally got an opportunity, we landed up on a sunday afternoon, but look at our luck, it’s the last day of the season! (15th april? why?) chef chris doesn’t seem to be around. clearly the mice are at play while the cat’s away! radio blaring loud, staff fooling around, screaming, abusing each other... i understand they are excited and looking forward to their vacation but do we have to be subjected to this vibe on our vacation? one of the stewards actually said he doesn’t feel like working since it’s their last day! really! now i wish i were a foreigner who didn’t understand hindi!

the slushes we ordered were lovely and refreshing. but the shiitake mushroom & glass noodle dimsum and the black bean fish fillet with sesame coconut steamed rice were too salty for our liking. it looked like the chef went crazy with the black bean sauce and the soy! but that didn’t make us ask for the bill. it was the steward’s desire to not work on his last day made us ask for our bill and leave.

it’s the last sunday of the season for god’s sake! make it memorable to your customers. play somegoodmusic, turn on the charm and create a sunday experience that makes customers return the next season!

rude staff - unfortunate.
made a reservation at sublime for a party of 10 (all looking forward to some great food as have been here a few times before). on getting into the restaurant was seated and subsequently unattended for 15 mins. walked up to the bar to order drinks as we could tell that the place was under staffed. was very rudely told to sit back down and orders are only taken at the table. sheepishly complied with my tail between my legs. another 5 mins go by with no one even glancing at our table of 10. when i asked the server to help us he rudely shouted across the tables to his manager that the manager should have not taken our reservation as they were understaffed. unable to sit through this humiliation we left for a super evening at bora bora next door.goodluck and god speed sublime - you can't survive of great food alone in goa anymore. have to back it up with bare minimum service at the least.

truly sublime! best seafood i ve had in a long time. chicken dim sum was delicious and so was the baked camembert salad. the vegetarian mains (lentil stuffed zucchini and the grilled mushroom with potato gratin) was super tasty and on point. we also tried the chinese five spice sous vide pork belly which was disappointing. the pork was tough and over-cooked. another thing that bothered me was the lack of ventilation. at lunch time it was about 30 degrees c and the table we got was located in one of the corners (no where near the fans). it was super hot and this made it very difficult for us to just relax and enjoy our meal... but all the other dishes were sogoodthat it made up for that one bad dish and the lack of ventilation.

ok, so i've been to sublime a few times now, but i'm still waiting for that perfect meal. chris (the owner) has a great passion for his place and that comes through by hisgoodnetworking with all his customers, but he's somewhat let down by the staff. example - on my last visit, i ordered the clams with goan chorizo, but was instead given an assortment of seafood and shellfish curry. alright, it wasn't bad and it was their last trading day of the season, but that's no excuse for getting an order wrong, especially as they write down the orders. i would go again, purely for its location, but i really think the food needs to step up.

one of the best places to have european food in goa! the place maybe a little difficult to locate but once you do, you're in for a great time! the place provides a great view and it is located right on the beach! apparently the owner sleeps on this lofty perch in the restaurant with a view of the beach and sea. coming to the food we ordered mushroom soup which was excellent with an assortment of breads. we also ordered mediterranean seafood bowl which had clams prawns and a gamut of other seafood things but it all tastedgoodwith a great balance and all this to go with wine! we also ordered fish and prawn pancakes which received kind of mixed reviews among us 4 but still great nonetheless. all in all a great time was had by big foodies looking for " hidden gems" in goa!

ps: we got know about this place because it was featured in one of the india today articles. :)
