i discoveredstrollaa couple of weeks ago when my family and i went there for breakfast.strollais a jewel! they have stunning décor, beautiful views of the ocean (from the upper deck) and very friendly and professional staff.

i had the most perfect salmon eggs benedict. eggs benny is by far my favourite breakfast, andstrollais officially my favourite place to eat it. the eggs were poached perfectly, the hollandaise was just the right amount with all the key flavours, and the overall presentation was simple yet elegant. needless to say, it tasted phenomenal.

the service was great and our waiter was attentive without being overbearing – very professional.

i can’t wait to go back and enjoy a sundowner on their upper deck.

i highly recommendstrollafor breakfast and a view and maybe something more... can’t wait to go back!

wife, baby and i visitedstrollalast night. at first i was worried that it would not be suitable for a 21 month old but i was please surprised. this place is perfect for kids. they have a fully kitted play room,a baby chair with shoulder straps and a proper baby changing room. it's definitely a place to go eat at if you have kids.

as for the food, the burger was very juicy and with crispy bacon and camembert it was amazing. i loved the wedges as well. the mussel and corn chowder was delicious and the portion size is generous.

we ordered some poppers as well, i'm not a fan of childlike poppers but i ate 2 of the 4. they were crispy, cheesy and not overly spicy. they are not made in the traditional way but i prefer these poppers to the regular ones. they have a kids menu also so we ordered the hotdog and fries for the little one.

service was good and overall experience great. i will definitely return.

i went tostrollalast week for a zomato meetup tasting and i was pleasantly surprised that i hadn't even heard of it before! we tasted pretty much everything but the highlights for me were: the pinã colada was a home run, the lamb croquette with tea wine jus was perfectly seasoned and crispy with nice acidity from the jus, and the minted pea and pancetta risotto, super well balanced and completely sinful in all the right ways! the parma and fig pizza was also tasty. only criticism was that the sticky pork ribs were a bit too sweet and the nachos were slightly over spiced too in the salt front. overall great place with a nice view!

the other day i was invited to a zomato meetup atstrollaand before i start i must say, it was delicious.
we started off with a cold cumin and cucumber soup topped with a scrumptious little prawn. next on the menu was a lamb croquette which was sitting in a red wine jus. our other starters included a minted pea and pancetta risotto, sticky pork ribs, cheesy nachos and chicken koftas which i found to be a bit spicy but probably my favourite thing on the menu. for mains we shared the fig and parma ham pizza as well as the lamb pizza - both being very delicious. to top the evening off we were blessed with a nougat cheese cake, two of my favourite desserts put into one.

the location was magnificent, great ambiance and vibe. a big thank you to our chef oliver and assistant edith who were both extremely pleasant.
will definitely be back

i was lucky enough to be invited to a complimentary zomato foodie meetup at strolla, and enjoyed every second of it! we started with sundowners on the upstairs balcony overlooking the sea- a great view matched by a divine pink grapefruit g&t cocktail.

we were treated to an array of delicious tapas, starting with a cold cucumber and cumin soup that was loaded with flavour and topped with a mouthwatering prawn. perfect for these hot days in ct! other winners on their menu include the lamb croquettes with red wine jus, the spicy chicken koftas with chilli jam, the cheesy nachos and the fig and parma ham pizza. my favourite dish was the sticky pork ribs that were falling off the bone and absolutely dripping with a hearty sauce.

the staff were very attentive and friendly, and we got to meet the very talented chef of the restaurant, oliver. i loved the ambience, and noticed a fireplace inside the restaurant for those rainy cape town winters.strollais also on the entertainer so there's even more reason to go! will be back!

strolling on a sunday afternoon on the beach front brought us tostrollafor lunch. the restaurant us inside the peninsula hotel and has ample inside seating, outside on the deck or upstairs on the veranda.

the menu is a fair cafe style menu with sufficient
items to choose from. a little on the pricy side but understandable for a hotel.

we both had cocktails which were excellent. we shared the chilli poppers which were delicious with just the right amount of bite.

for mains, i had the fish and chips. at r145, it was pricy - especially for what i was served. two small pieces of fish in a thick tempura crust. when i cut it open, the batter was raw on the inside and water ran out all over my plate. the waiter explained that the chef said this happened because the fish was frozen. i find this unacceptable. it's not an excuse - as they should not be selling frozen fish. very poor. my 6 chips were thick and soft. not crisp at all.

hubby had a chicken & mushroom pizza. he said it was ok. the bite i had had a rather thick doughy base. not great.

just before a meeting i stopped atstrollafor a coffee . it ended up becoming a lemon seed muffin (delicious) a carrot and ginger freshly pressed juice (really delicious) and a cappuccino (to strong and a bit dissapointing). service is great and the setting is very pretty.

so we didn't make breakfast, opted for a late sunday sleep-in, which forces one to do brunch, and as it was a beautiful day in cape town, we wanted a view, sostrollaseemed fitting. i chose the open ale pulled pork sandwich with melted gruyere on sourdough and dario had the chicken bacon and avo salad with a soft poached egg. the salad was a sufficient portion, with lots of filling, but the choice of lettuce was very fury and gritty and too much of it. the pulled pork sandwhich was sufficient for me, in terms of portion size, but i think if you were hungry, or a big eater, you'd expect more. it also lacks a dressing or sauce. a honey, soy or plum glaze would work perfectly, as pork tends to dry out quickly. the location is beautiful and the service is efficient. really good edition to the peninsula hotel.

what an unexpected find! we came acrossstrollawhen looking for a child friendly venue in the cbd. really impressed. good cocktails, awesome vibe (and music). attentive staff (even made my busy 4 yr old feel welcome & important). tasty food. build your own pizza for the youngsters. very good kids room - with full time minder. gaming consoles, movies & bean bags, lego & crafts table. kids play area can be viewed from a window facing the restaurant. fabulous afternoon for all. (4 yr old cried when we wanted to go home after 3 hours!)

after reading aboutstrollain a magazine, our family decided that visiting this restaurant was a must while on holiday in the cape.

a warm and dimly lit setting with friendly staff left us feeling welcome.
the cocktail menu was extensive, offering a variety of flavoured gins to pair with your tonic, as well as your standard cocktails with a twist.

our meals were beautifully presented and very delicious! between the family and i, we had the quinoa salad, the bacon and avo salad, the lamb, soup and jalapeño poppers!

the poppers were undoubtedly the tastiest i have ever eaten, and the salad was one of exquisite flavours!
we were all pleasantly surprised by our meals and certainly treated to such a great dinner!
