over priced and poor quality. terrible cut of meat, ordered the filet and it was mostly fat. they can never seem to cook the steaks correctly. mine was charred/burned on the outside and rare inside. no that's not how i ordered it. when the manager came over he was sarcastic and argumentative. this restaurant used to be great but has gone down hill. i'm done, this was my last visit.

lousy. fourth trip ever tonight to stoney river. poor cuts of meat, poorly prepared. my wife and i go there occasionally, with the same result each and every time over 4 years. over priced. chain suburban food. easy to please natives.
go to cabernet, rays killer creek with much better cuts, preparation, service for the high end market.

best steak salad i have ever eaten. the dressing mixed with avocado and blue cheese crumbles is evenly portioned with every bite. the deviled eggs push it into the stratosphere! this place is my new local favorite!! i can’t wait to try something new next time!

i visited stoney river for the first time on new years eve. we made a reservation for 8:00pm, but were not sat until about 8:20pm. the restaurant has a chic and cozy atmosphere, which makes it great for a date night. once sat, the waitress took our drink orders. the drinks, including waters, probably took about 15 minutes. we did not receive any bread until much later after that. after placing our order, the service still seemed to be sub-par, especially for the prices. i understand that it was a holiday and the restaurant was very busy, but a part of the cost for the food, is to receive reasonably attentive service. i ordered a 7oz legendary steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. the steak was very nicely seasoned, cooked, and presented. the flavors and tenderness of the steak were perfect. the mashed potatoes were a huge let down. the were very bland and dry, and had the texture of instant potatoes. the asparagus was steamed well and had a great texture. overall, i probably would not return. although the restaurant had a chic atmosphere, the service received, coupled with the high prices, just is not worth the cost. my tab, for a 7oz steak, two sides, and one alcoholic drink came to about $60. not including a tip. will not return.

love going to stoney river its a really classy restraint with amazing food, although the great atmosphere and the outstanding food the service is a little slow for instance it took me 20 minutes to get s refill on my soda. but they were able to deliver a table next to me alcoholic drinks and bring them refills almost instantly after they finished there beverage. the experience really disturbed my dinner but i would still love to come back.

good enough. the prime rib i ordered was good, and the pecan trout my daughter ordered was equally good. a decent wine list as good - ordered the maryvale with the prime rib - good pairing.

service was attentive, no real issues. the ambiance was fine - not too noisy that would prohibit conversation. had a good time.

i did feel that it was overpriced.

love it. been there over a dozen times, and only had some non-excellent vegi's once.

i've never had a bad server, they must understand about getting rid of the people that just don't fit or have higher standards.

the barstaff is friendly and accommodating.

too expensive for what it is. the caprese had plain store bought ordinary tomatoes. they should have been fresh heirloom. my prime rib was dull. the asparagus was a tad undercooked and too cold by the time it arrived at the table.

more like o'charleys since they own them now....... this used to be one of my favorite restaurants, now it is just like o'charleys. they have add several menu items and do them just ok instead of having the old items that made them. they only have smoked salmon on request and the quality is not there anymore. the steaks do not compare to hal's on old ivy (#1), bones (#2), new york prime (#3), mekendrick (#4), and even little alley's steaks in roswell blows stoney river out of the water for a great steak and/or seafood. they used to have the best steaks but they have changed unfortunately. my wife used to love their crab cake that was lump crab meat and now it is a cheap fried crab cake real healthy. i used to love the extensive wine list to accompany my steak or chop now the best wine on their list is jordan cabernet. i am sad that the o'charley's chain has completely destroyed one of my favorite restaurants!

great steaks=stoney river. i have been dining here for the past 4 years. it is where we go to get a great steak. we always do the filet mignon. always delicious and if you enjoy a cocktail with your dinner my favorites are the lemon drop martini or the chocolate martini with grey goose of course. this is the only restaurant that i feel relaxed enough to enjoy a little alcohol with dinner for the perfect evening out.

as stated in my prior post stoney river had lost its mojo earlier in the year. i can say now they regained their mojo. i had a tempura lobster appetizer, two flights of wine and the medium sized prime rib. i was very pleased with everything. my wife had the cabin filet and missed the grandiose crust the lodge filet used to have. all in all an obvious improvement from our prior visit. we have regained hope. :-)

i see a recent review state the quality returned but when i was there last in late september/early october, it was a true shadow of itself. once legendary now became a farce. it was at best comparable to outback.

happy to see a resurgence here. i've been a big fan for years at stoney river. sadly in the past year or so, i noticed a decline in food quality that was really disappointing. after 2 mediocre and 1 downright bad food services about 6 months ago, i had decided to take it off my go-to list for places in roswell for good, fresh food and grown-up ambience. the other night a couple of girlfriends suggested it and before i could caution them with my opinion, it was decided.

i was absolutely delighted with my meal. the coffee-cured filet was cooked perfectly (rare) and the augratin potatoes were delicious and gooey and "felt" handmade. the green beans on this plate are always nnicely crisp and clean tasting.

the martini was a good bit smaller than it used to be, but that's understandable in this economy...the management is better served to attend to food quality and pour a little less vodka so that everyone really tastes the food.

i am happily adding back to my list of go-to, grown-up meeting and eating places.

nicely done.
