absolutely excellent!. after much debate between all of the atlanta steakhouses, we decided to head back to stoney river for our 2 year anniversary. we had been once before and could think of no better place to celebrate. we were again thrilled with our experience! both of our steaks were incredible, perfectly grilled, seasoned and accented with excellent wine. i would strongly recommend the coffee crusted fillet. of course the rolls tasted like a dessert but what sets stoney river apart for us is the service. both times we have gotten jimmy as our server and both times he has taken phenomenal care of us. he has made terrific recommendations and has an excellent personality.
we strongly recommend stoney river. the food, atmosphere and, especially, the service will keep us coming back. be sure to ask for jimmy!!

good, but way too expensive. i've gone to stoney river several times. it irritates me when the waiters push wine at $150.00 a bottles and they do that here. the food has always been great. just abt. all i can afford is the lobster bisque (great) and a petite filet. forget ordering a complete meal. too expensive. don't go unless you are on an expense acct.

good, but not great. this was our first visit to stoney river and overall we liked it but weren't overly impressed. we both had the bone-in ribeye, caramelized onion mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, wedge salad, and shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. yeah, we pigged out! we know this isn't the popular opinion, but neither us liked the mashed potatoes. way too sweet...should have ordered the au gratin potatoes instead. the shrimp cocktail, wedge salad, and spinach were outstanding. the steak wasn't bad, but honestly a better steak can be had at ruth's chris. for $34, we expected it to knock our socks off and it just didn't do that. as expected, the service was excellent. our bill for two with tip was $165. that included 3 drinks a piece (3 beers, 1 martini, 2 glasses of wine).

if there was a love it button....... i would have hit it for this place. filet mignon and caramelized onion mashed potatoes is my favorite. oh and of course the rolls they bring out that everyone is addicted to! the location in roswell is the best to me.

one of my favorite steaks. i have enjoyed going to stoney river for years. this and one other place in atlanta are my favorite steaks. i also love the mashed cinnamon sweet potatoes, asparagus with bearnaise sauce and those wonderful little rolls they bring out with the sweet butter. as another reviewer pointed out, it is pricey, but the service is usually great. you will pay around $25-30 for a small filet, but it is worth it for a nice change from outback or longhorn. two things worth noting: there is seating in the back next to the kitchen on a first come, first served basis, which is nice when there is a wait. also, not all locations are created equal. the roswell location is by far the best in terms of taste and service.

it must have been an off night-the tomato mozzarella salad was awful-made worse with a pile of fried onions covering half the plate. the glass of wine was barely 4 ounces and the the panko crusted shrimp was just breaded. although the steaks were good, the sides were brought to the table lukewarm. i rather eat at longhorns.

some of the best food i've had. we had the coffe cured filet, horseradish encrusted ny strip and the pecan swordfish. everything, even the salads and sides, was wonderful.

ate there last night, will never again. arrived at 6 pm, told we would be sat "no later than 45 minutes.". the place was half empty. we sat at the bar and an hour 15 later (after 2 drinks ea with a bar tab of 45) we were seated. place was still half empty. horrible service. salad was brought out before app, then app brought ou while we were eating salad. steaks were not cooked to order. my $30 filet ordered med was med well, sent it back they brought me undercooked bloody med rare. hubby's prime rib ordered med rare was on the other side of medium. i don't even think the first i was given was a filet. way overpriced, total bill with 2 drinks ea was $190. much better meal at outback last week, nearly same everything, for $80. it is bad when the best thing about a steakhouse meal is the salad. when we left, place was still half empty with people waiting outside.

local family steakhouse. upscale from longhorn and outback - downscale from cabernet and capital grille - fine but somewhat overpriced local family steakhouse. easy to get in, easy to find something for everybody - fast, friendly - you'll like it.
