great place for a business dinner.

the stockyards is a great place for a business dinner. it has a fairly quite atmosphere which allows for good conversation. the steaks are very good and the portion size are plenty. the steaks start in the forty dollar range.

ambiance good. service was great. i had the 16 oz ribeye. it was cooked perfectly but the meat quality was what you would expect from say an outback steakhouse. it was nothing special!
my wife had the seared prime rib which was also pretty tasteless.
the bread, sides and desert were good. we spent over $220 and i just expected better quality meat.
i would not come here again for steak. maybe burger etc. included in our tab was a great bottle of cab.

place has a nostalgic vibe of family run steak restaurant, plenty of staff to serve you, pictures, paintings and flags from the past. lunch was delicious, servers oversold us on appetizers but the onion rings are delicious! and prices aren't too steep for lunch. definitely worth checking out.

ecce homo, ergo elk. we took my dad for a special birthday meal and were very happy with our choice. i hesitated to order the elk that was on special but the waiter said i would not regret it. he was quite right, as it was tender, juicy and not at all gamey. many steakhouses have everything a la carte but stockyards includes soup or salad for openers and sides with the entree. the seafood chowder was delicious and loaded! oh, and they first bring a basket of warm biscuits and corn muffins with a delightful prickly pear butter. three thumbs up.

fast, friendly and yummy for lunch!. i had the steak sandwich on rye which was delicious. i tried to only eat half but simply could not resist! lunch for 2 $50.

worth the price! the most amazing, meltin your mouth prime rib and definitely get the chili. my boyfriend was able to cut his porterhouse with a fork. we'll be back!

ok food but pricey!. family went there tonight as the last dinner of our vacation, had not had a great steak yet on this trip. wife had the filet oscar and i had the filet. steaks were ok, but $46 for a 12oz filet and two very small sides s a bit much when the steak is only ok. they have a standard kids menu which includes a scoop of ice cream. the service was just ok, our waitress seemed somewhat clueless on the timing of the food..the kids were done by the time ours came out, and they were done with their ice cream when she finally brought us a dessert menu. dessert was also just ok. overall, ok food, ok atmosphere, way overpriced for what you get.

great place. comfortable atmosphere, warm and very professional service. a decent wine list, and very good food. the buffalo steak was delicious, a bit expensive though, but worth the experience. i definitely recommend this place.

great experience. we're from out of town and wanted to try a local steakhouse, so we decided to give the stockyard a try. what a experience, the atmosphere was great, the server was very knowledgeable on the wines and which complemented each type of meat, she was very attentive and punctual ( which is something rare to find these days). the food itself was prepared and presented just right. i had the wild west mixed grill which consisted of elk medallions with a juniper rosemary sauce, a filet of walleyed pike that was breaded with pecans, and a link of wild boar and venison sausage with apple chutney. the flavor from the elk was phenomenal and almost melted in your mouth. i was not to crazy about the fish, but then again i'm not a fish lover. all in all, i would recommend the stockyard for any special occasion. (the prices to me were a bit high to justify a weekly jaunt)

professional service & solid. good variety of proteins , double sized portions, very clean, and professional.

after phil's graduation from mmi we decided to treat him to a steak. i found stockyards and it was a really cool joint. they have a giant cow on the roof. how could you go wrong? we were greeted with a bread/cracker basket while we perused the menu. i had the filet mignon with their parmesan potato stack which is simply au gratin potatoes with parmesan. it was very tasty and dense. their filet was very good. nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. it was at a right price at $36 for 8oz., in my opinion. it's also worth mentioning that they were running a side item special that day on sauteed chanterelle mushrooms at $10. worth it! god those are my kryptonite. pat opted for the buffalo steak which was $55 for a 20oz ribeye. pat really loved it and pretty much cleaned the bone. pat had a nice loaded potato on the side which was a generous size. phil on the other hand had the world's largest, bloodiest piece of prime rib ever. he had the "cattle baron's cut" of prime rib which was $36 for 18

awesome steaks!. the corn muffins with prickly pear butter was a great start to the meal. also the salads was tossed just right in a garlic ranch dressing. for the entree, i got the filet mignon which came with a delicious whiskey peppercorn sauce on the side! the parmesan potato stack was very good as a side. to finish off had a huge slice of ny style cheesecake with a raspberry sauce! i would highly recommend this steakhouse. i can't wait to go back again!

geoff. we love this restaurant. it is the original steakhouse in arizona, going back to the 50's. the steaks and prime rib are terrific, as is the service. this has been a family favorite for three generations. we have never had a bad meal here and our dad's 80th birthday dinner there recently was no exception. thank you stockyards!!
