we showed up friday night at 6:45 and after tasting the food can not understand why thisplacewasn't packed!  the crowd definitely picked up by the time we left though.  we didn't have 1 complaint - every thing we ate was enjoyed by all 4 at our table.  started with the avocado toast and tuna guacomole dish - both fresh and would order both again.  our entrees were some of the best we have tasted at a restaurant in a very long time.  meatloaf for the guys and i split the goat cheese dumplings and one of the specials - shrimp and grits (large shrimp and stone ground grits).  we couldn't get over how good the food was.  management was excellent - service was great and ambience had a very cool, laid back feel - decorated in grays, relaxing place.  would absolutely recommend!

i went here during my visit ... it was awesome. i went here during my visit to dallas looking for a more upscale restaurant doing something different. i definitely hit the mark! i arrived late for my reservation as my date was running late. i managed to order before the kitchen closed. i ordered fries with truffle aioli, brussel sprouts, squid salad (on special) whole grilled snapper (on special) diver scallops, shaved brussels salad, the ceviche, the flatiron steak (on special) and the bread pudding with jack daniels caramel. the squid salad was nicely fried and the greens were dressed nicely. the ceviche was okay, the jalapeño was slightly off balanced but it was still good. the fries were great but i'm a sucker for truffle! the steak was cooked med rare and came with mac and cheese. very good and very filling. the snapper on special was quite notable, my date who doesn't usually eat fish, devoured it! it was well presented whole but maybe difficult for people to understand how to eat. brussel sprouts were really good but you need the sweetness in the bottom of the bowl for the char on the sprouts to not get overbearing. my highlights to the meal were the diver scallops, i highly recommend them. perfect sear and the cauliflower puree with the raisins and balsamic reduction become a smooth, sweet bold flavor when eaten all together. and by the time we had finished our meal, it was near 1130 and i was disappointed we missed dessert. our server made sure this wasn't the case and on his recommendation, we had the bread pudding (which he said was featured in a magazine recently). amazing dessert! the salt on the caramel rounded out the nuts and the pudding. the cool ice cream added a silky luscious accent to the warm bread pudding. this to me was an amazing meal and amazing service. my bill was about $125 but i tipped to $190. it was worth every penny i thought. and i forgot to mention the decor and restaurant layout was modern and industrial but still very clean. definitely aplaceto take a date! and mine was very happy... lol best meal in dallas by far.
