i love the bishop arts district and went there recently with a friend for sunday brunch at stock and barrel. i loved both of our dishes so much that if i ever go back by myself, i'm ordering both! our server helped us narrow our choices and did not steer us wrong. i ordered the fried spicy spaghetti, which includes wagyu meatballs, fried spaghetti and charred tomatoes, topped with two fried eggs ...

on vacation in dallas and my friends recommended this place and it doesn't disappoint. evan our server was amazing and he recommend a great bottle of wine and some amazing apps. the four of us ate almost everything on the menu and the next dish was even better than the previous. highly recommend the lamb appetizer, the brussel sprouts side dish and the squid ink pasta special. like i said the service was amazing and the food was great. i would highly recommend this place to any one! great job chef!

sunday brunch here — had the chicken and waffle, and it did not disappoint. extremely unique flavor combinations that worked incredibly together. great environment, and amazing french fries! really enjoyed the experience and would love to come back and try something different next time - all the food looked wonderful.

yesterday our company usaa had a luncheon for the people who worked in the addison office. the food was amazing, meatloaf was quite tasty along the chicken and grits. loved the dining experience on the patio. i cant wait to go back to visit.

you really should make a reservation if you want a table. we didn't know this (should have checked zomato before) but we were able to sit at the chef's counter. it was fun! the lump crab fritters were to die for! they melted in your mouth.

stock & barrel is a good-looking, great-tasting gem on the edge of bishop arts in oak cliff. since my first visit, i've been recommending it to folks looking for a new spot to try out, and i was glad to find on my second visit that it hadn't fallen short of my expectations. chef jon stevens' dishes are beautiful, delicious and well-portioned. the menu is so full of incredible-sounding items that it's really tough to choose. and that's before the chalkboard specials come into play. that's a great problem to have.

we showed up friday night at 6:45 and after tasting the food can not understand why this place wasn't packed!  the crowd definitely picked up by the time we left though.  we didn't have 1 complaint - every thing we ate was enjoyed by all 4 at our table.  started with the avocado toast and tuna guacomole dish - both fresh and would order both again.  our entrees were some of the best we have tasted at a restaurant in a very long time.  meatloaf for the guys and i split the goat cheese dumplings and one of the specials - shrimp and grits (large shrimp and stone ground grits).  we couldn't get over how good the food was.  management was excellent - service was great and ambience had a very cool, laid back feel - decorated in grays, relaxing place.  would absolutely recommend!

i went here during my visit ... it was awesome. i went here during my visit to dallas looking for a more upscale restaurant doing something different. i definitely hit the mark! i arrived late for my reservation as my date was running late. i managed to order before the kitchen closed. i ordered fries with truffle aioli, brussel sprouts, squid salad (on special) whole grilled snapper (on special) diver scallops, shaved brussels salad, the ceviche, the flatiron steak (on special) and the bread pudding with jack daniels caramel. the squid salad was nicely fried and the greens were dressed nicely. the ceviche was okay, the jalapeño was slightly off balanced but it was still good. the fries were great but i'm a sucker for truffle! the steak was cooked med rare and came with mac and cheese. very good and very filling. the snapper on special was quite notable, my date who doesn't usually eat fish, devoured it! it was well presented whole but maybe difficult for people to understand how to eat. brussel sprouts were really good but you need the sweetness in the bottom of the bowl for the char on the sprouts to not get overbearing. my highlights to the meal were the diver scallops, i highly recommend them. perfect sear and the cauliflower puree with the raisins and balsamic reduction become a smooth, sweet bold flavor when eaten all together. and by the time we had finished our meal, it was near 1130 and i was disappointed we missed dessert. our server made sure this wasn't the case and on his recommendation, we had the bread pudding (which he said was featured in a magazine recently). amazing dessert! the salt on the caramel rounded out the nuts and the pudding. the cool ice cream added a silky luscious accent to the warm bread pudding. this to me was an amazing meal and amazing service. my bill was about $125 but i tipped to $190. it was worth every penny i thought. and i forgot to mention the decor and restaurant layout was modern and industrial but still very clean. definitely a place to take a date! and mine was very happy... lol best meal in dallas by far.

loved it!. we had the crab fritters, roasted artichoke, wagyu meatloaf, the goat cheese dumplings and the brussel sprouts.. all the food was great. the meatloaf is definitely not your mama's meatloaf. i usually avoid most meatloafs but i'm glad i gave this a try. the flavors were wonderful the sauce was great. the service was also great, very attentive but not too attentive. would be more than happy to return.

i'm not sure whether the previous reviewer ate at the same restaurant we did. i'm glad we were not dissuaded by that negative review because my entire party agreed this was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. scott, our outstanding server, didn't steer us wrong with our meal choices. don't miss the wagyu meatloaf, the scallops, foraged mushrooms, shaved brussels sprout salad, chickpea fries (these little nuggets of fried hummus will make you squeal), and caramel croissant bread pudding. we will be back!
