this place is my new found love in surat. i happened to hear about this place from my friends and was looking forward to try it. i organized a lunch meet for my students here in their banquet. and i am really impressed with the food. we had an entire buffet menu comprising of soups (the crispy tortillasoupwas amazing), starters (paneer chilly was good and pizza balls were to die for), rotis, sabzis, dal, rice, enchiladas (again pretty amazing) and desserts.
i even tried their paneer sizzler which had a yum makhni gravy.
the place is nice for a small get together. the team is quite non flexible on their terms and hence if you are looking for any alterations in the menu, it won't be possible. i feel they should consider some genuine changes if the customer feels so. anyways, i loved this place solely for the food. service was decent and it is not very heavy on the pockets. would love to visit again.

i had dinner at steam recently. actually, i went there after reading a few reviews on zomato. so, i was very excited.
the ambiance was good. the atmosphere was welcoming. i liked the decoration.
they served their complimentary khakhara sticks with green chutney. to be honest, i didn’t really like it. but it was complimentary so that is fine.
i tried different food items here and i’m giving my ratings which are out of 10.
p.s. above 8 means i loved it!
1. nachos with cheese sauce - 5
2. crispy tortillasoup- 4
3. lemon ice tea - 8
4. zafrani paneer tikka - 7
5. continental sizzler - 9
only 3 items i liked out of 5. i expected better nachos. and the quantity of cheese sauce was very little. crispy tortillasoupwas awful. it was the worstsoupi ever had! i loved lemon ice tea. it was refreshing. the paneer pieces weren’t barbecued properly. the masala was good but it could be better if it was properly barbecued. i must say the quantity was good. i mean i was full after eating it but i still want to try continental sizzler. it was so good. i loved it.
overall the taste was good but they still need some improvements and it didn’t hurt your pocket that much!

ambience: it almost feels like a fine luxury dining experience. we luckily got the sofas besides the crystal curtains which looked perfect for a family dinner.

food:
we started with soup. now, while i prefer tomatosoupmostly not many restaurants cook it this good. i could give it 5/5. it was thick, creamy, tangy-sweet-spicy. in short perfect. we also ordered sweet corn and continental. important here is we ordered it 1/2 but the bowls were big enough so we had to again check if they really gave 1/2 or it was full order.

quantity was a surprising thing here considering the place, its location and the price.

then we had lasagna which was having quite good enough quantity and also nice taste. italian sizzler was nice too. taste is good here, nothing out of the world but we were not even looking for a never-had-before taste.

then we had cheese anguri, bunty aur bubbly(mixture of paneer-cottage cheese in red gravy and sauted vegetables in green gravy), all types of naan, roomali and butter roti. punjabi was okayish as we expected more cheese cubes in the cheese anguri.

service was good but not great since we had to wait a lot and again and again keep asking for water since we ordered regular served in big jugs, and not a mineral water bottle.

but all this, and our fully-stuffed tummys got happy at the glance of the bill amount, which was quite less than what we expected it to be.

an absolute delightful experience. highly recommended. whether it issoupor starter or multi-cuisine, they've best of everything. and of course can't forget to mention desserts here. "coffee crunch rasgulla". do try it and you can thank me later.
also mocktails are under 100rs. so don't forget to try that too.

it's like falling in love with the place again.
being a huge fan of valentine multiplex it is inevitable to miss the food here. i still remember i used to come here since it was salt and pepper and now it's - steam

ambiance is cliche, an old school furniture with a view of the gaurav path on right and multiplex on the left. seating is comfortable and lighting is soothing.

started with cream of carrotsoup(quite unusual to see in this menu). awesomeness of cream and crunch of carrot was a perfect taste. tried paneer kurkure for starters, coated with actual papad chura was a good looking stuff. but after taking the bite felt it could have been better. paneer afghani was an amazing paneer start accompanied with some salad. with a half tummy filled, ordered main course.
adraki paneer: delicious
veg egg curry: moderate
pyaz paratha: beautiful
cheese spinach paratha: yum
jeera rice and dal fry: good
in dessert it was jalebi and believe me the best jalebi i tried in recent times
and yes how can we forget. a meal ended with pan and pan shots for mouthfreshner.

altogether a wonderful dining experience on a lunch.
one thing i am still thinking, why the name of the restaurant is steam?

been here along with our food group review of admin is along with it
ambiance and sitting arrangement was good and can accommodated couple, family or groups
other interesting thing is restaurant serves half portion for almost all the punjabi dishes. so you can try more items...
service of the staff was good and person taking order does have knowledge of the food they prepare, so they can suggest us which food to order according to your taste. for you guys i am writing review of the food we tasted and also their photographs taken by me.
-crispy rumali – it was complimentary for all visitors….. it was really crisp and tasty…. pinch of spices and butter is adding to flavour
-al harirasoup– it was in arebian style, mild spice and different flavour than regular soups… i will recommend this.
-mushroom cappuccinosoup– it taste like alfredo pasta sauce in diluted foam, was tasty but can be more tasty if it is more thick and bit creamy
-cotted cheese roll – wrap roll with cheese and herbs stuffing. good in taste
-paneer kurkure – paneer wrapped with papad crunch and fried…. can delight people who likes
paneer pakoda. i personally did not like it much.
-mexican platter – platter with cheese ball, onion rings and nachos with salsa and cheese dip. nicely fried and good in taste….
-honey chilly potato – potato finger cooked in chinese style with flavour of honey.
-french revoli – a continental baked dish with lot of cheese and spinach, taste good.
-indonesian sizzler – i find rice base bit dry, can add sauce to it
-cheese anguri – nice authentic punjabi subji with cheese balls
-paneer labadar – mild spicy in taste but maintaining authentic punjabi flavour
-dal tadka – good authentic taste
-jeera rice - good authentic taste
-jalebi – 2 big size jalebi served in a plate, it was good but suggestion is it should be little less sweet and also it was bit over fried.
-pan shorts – small shot ok milk with flavour of pan
-pan – nothing better than to have traditional meetha pan after a heavy lunch….

had an amazing time lunching with friends here. we were a group of about 15 people occupying 3 tables.

the ambience is amazing, given this restaurant is in a multiplex.

we were greeted with the complimentary crispy rumali roti , the taste of which was just decent.

then came in the starters - paneer kurkure, paneer afghani, honey chilly potatoes, french ravioli and cheese spinach roll.

the paneer kurkure and paneer afghani were a little blant for my taste but the cheese spinach roll won my heart!!! truly cheesy and felt amazing in my mouth... couldn't wait for more food after that!!!
honey chilly potatoes and french ravioli catered alright to my taste buds.

soups - i always order lemon coriandersoupand this time also got to taste the cream of carrot and mexican corn soup.

lemon coriander was a little thick but otherwise satiated mysoupthirst & the cream of carrot was truly amazing. mexican cornsoupwas just alright.

drinks - dark knight & lemon ginger drink
dark knight was the star here - reminded me of those codd bottled fizzy drinks of the past. we also ordered some with out the chat masala and that tasted amazing too.
lemon ginger - i expected a strong lemon taste but it was rather strong ginger taste. was alright though.

main entrée- paneer jaggery masala, veg egg curry, dhaniya adraki - with a basket of rotis and parathas. jeera rice with dal tadka and dal makhni

paneer jaggery masala - sure to suit any gujarati's taste buds ( since its all sweet with enough masala punch)
veg egg curry - curiously gave the feel it was suppose to... surprising
dhaniya adraki - omg!! my fav of what i had tasted so far!!!
onion paratha - must try!!! well made... hats off to the chef.
malabari paratha - again ... well made!!
cheese filled paratha - omg!!! won my heart over again!!
rice and dal - as one would have it at home!!!

we finished with the most breathtaking jalebi i have ever had in my life. i personally refrain from sweets but this one was sooo good that i had to finish off my entire jalebi plate!!!!

the pan and pan shots!!! again ... surprisingly refreshing !

worth a try - when i call it worth a try means , taste wise & quantity .

superbly amazing experience , we have tasted almost around 15-16 varieties , most of them were so delicious , like we could not resist yourselves.

cheese naan, carrot soup, veg egg curry, mexican platter - specially cheese balls in that, paneer kurkure, dark night - drink, pan shots , jalebi, jeera rise and daal fry and tadka both.

amazing experience. very nice and pleasant interior and chef , staff everyone was so curious to take reviews , service was very nice. french revoli one of the bestest.

overall it was a great experience. also good for parties.

also i came to know that they will arrange a candle light date for ur spouse or partner if you book in advance . ;)
tried burmesesoupthis time, superb, paneer sashlik sizzler , pizza balls and lasagna.... each and every thing was superbly tasty... this place never disappoint me....

i was surprised to see such a beautiful restaurant in a multiplex. the restaurant is huge with pretty lights and good interiors.
i tried their chef's specialsoup- the cheesy carrot soup. it was so good i can't even put into words.
they also served this crispy roomali roti type papad to open up your tastebuds which was yum.
then we tried the starters.
the honey chilly potatoes were pretty interesting.
the cheese kurkure had a really good texture but it was a little bland.
i really liked the chinese spinach and cottage cheese rolls.
the french ravioli is a little sweet for me hence, personally, i would avoid it.
the highlight of the dinner though was the main course. they had this paneer jaggery masala which i was hoping to hate but surprisingly its after taste was so good i took a second helping.
the cheese angoori and paneer lababdar rocked as well.
the jeera rice and dal tadka topped up to a better experience.
their cheese naan was also brilliant. but my favourite roti was the spring onion paratha.
the jalebi rocked as well.
the main course and thesoupreally deserves a repeated mention.
would definitely visit again

i've visit the restaurant along with my friends a couple of times and we always order the unlimited lunch. this review is as a result of our most recent visit.

we went for a late lunch at 2:30 pm and the manager/waiter was extremely impatient and forced us to order even before we had a chance to get a drink of water.soupand starters were served, all of mediocre quality. when asked for breadcrumbs, the waiter kept pointing out a technicality and denied giving us the same. main course was once again served hastily with the waiter telling us to order all rotis/naans at once as he wouldn't take the order again.

the service was surprisingly bad and the food extremely ordinary. i'd think twice before going to the restaurant again unless they impart some training into their staff, who managed to spoil the dining experience for us.
