steak 'n shake

good but needs the full menu. it's good and comparable to freddy's but sadly it does not have the full menu which is disappointing because the menu online looks amazing

the original steakburger. too bad its so far away from me but i will go here when around. like freddy's, its steak burgers cooked to order. you can get a double with fries and a drink for 3.99..good bang for the buck. ordered the guacamole which was extra messy! it consist of a double steakburger topped with fresh guacamole... served with lettuce, vine-ripened tomato, red onion, pepperjack cheese, and chipotle sauce. great menu...signature concept is no longer which is probably a good thing.

good but....... i ate at steak and shake for the first time yesterday. the cashier took my order correctly & was very friendly. my order came quickly & correctly. good service. we had people check on us to see if our food was good & if we needed anything. again, good service. however, when we walked in to order, there were 3 employees, including managers sitting at the booth right next to the order counter. they were obviously quizzing an employee on food handling/safety. the lady was very loud & the conversation was very distracting to customers entering & ordering. the conversation consisted of questions about what would prevent the employee from coming into work. choices included syphilis & gonorrhea. i was appalled at the volume & the topic of the conversation! i almost walked out!! i understand these things need to be done but is there not a more appropriate place to conduct business??? i don't see going back and can't recommend any of my friends to go there. the inappropriate conversation will stick with me for a long time!!! you won't see me there again. you've lost at least one customer because of a poor choice made by the manager. too bad.

great food! when we had any problem all you have to do is talk to the manager .... santos is his name. we received four vouchers for free food and he gladly fixed our order. try the frisco melt!

good food, but disappointing compared to other steak n shakes. we have been to the steak n shake in austin and enjoyed a variety of menu items. the one in san antonio, however, has a very limited menu. basically just burgers, fries, and shakes. no chicken, salads, soup/chili, or breakfast items at all. also, there is no table service, you have to go to the counter to order and pick up your food. the burgers we had were good especially for the price.

don't waste your time. this isn't a steak 'n shake diner like you're used to. limited menu, no chili mac! just burgers and fries and that's really it. atmosphere sucked and service was rude, food was average . i always order chili mac but this signature restaraunt doesn't have it .. i'll never go back!

steak 'n shake signature takes on mcdonalds's. after living in the midwest for 11 years, i fully enjoyed steak 'n shake. i was excited when i learned that steak 'n shake signature was coming to san antonio. i was so disappointment the moment i walked in the door.

first, steak 'n shake signature is a counter service business, not a classic steak 'n shake dinner. my family was greeted with a long line and loud music. the music was so loud there was an order entry error with my steakburger.

second, the menu is very limited compared to the classic steak 'n shake dinner. the actual food was just okay.

third, with this counter service business model it appears that steak 'n shake signature is directly competing with mcdonald's. in conclusion, if i want a good burger i will go to whataburger and if ii want a good shake i will go to sonic.
