great new spot!!!. we had an amazing dining experience her last night. we were welcomed at the door and instantly made comfortable with our 2 young kids by our server who sat us in the restaurant. the kids shared a pepperoni pizza and we had the french onion soup and the mac and cheese. both were delicious and we washed them down with a pint and a glass of wine. the prices seemed reasonable considering the massive portion sizes we received. we're happy to have something close to our home that isn't a personality less chain restaurant or a dingy pub.

great new place!. i am often by mount royal university and a friend mentioned that local had recently closed so we headed over to check out the new restaurant - spot on kitchen & bar.
let's start with the food, the portions are huge, hot a ridiculously delicious. the uptown poutine is amazing, pulled pork, gravy, cheese and fries, it could be a meal on its own. the pizza was delicious, and the wine selection is fantastic.
the prices are super affordable for the quality of food and drinks that you are getting. also, the portion sizes are massive, as mentioned, so it is really worth every dollar.
the service... our server was super sweet, and was really trying to make sure we had a good time. she recommended a couple different wines for us to try.
lastly, the atmosphere, they did a really great job renovating, there is a lounge side and a family friendly side, which is great if you want to have a drink and hang out with besties, watch the game, or if you want to take the kidlets out for a meal that isn't at a chain restaurant.
overall, i would say that they did a great job with the reno, the food is great, and reasonably priced, and the service was good. i know we will be back!

went recently to the newly opened spot on. as a huge fan of its sister restaurant, 4th spot, i was super excited to have a location further south. and boy was i not disappointed!! great food, friendly staff and a great decor in a pretty sweet location (just off glenmore). i had the butcher shop poutine and it was delicious. huge portion! didn't even come close to finishing it. i will be back there as soon as possible.

our new favourite spot!!! my family and i went to spot on last night for dinner and were extremely impressed with our experience! to find such a family friendly place is a difficult feat in this city. we now have the option of going to the dining room with the family or the lounge on date nights! the kids meals were great and even came with ice cream. our meals were huge portions, so we both had leftovers for lunch. my husbands avocado burger was melt in your mouth delicious. i had the margarita pizza with fresh basil, and it was honestly some of the best pizza i've ever had! our waitress helped us make some tough decisions and even brought out the kids meals first for our 'starving' kids! the male manager made us aware of the weekly specials and new features we had to look forward to. half price wings and wine really got me excited for wednesday nights. you will not get this kind of service anywhere else in the city. will be recommending to our friends and family!

i really wanted to like this place!. after enduring 4 long years of local 002, i was excited to try spot on, the restaurant that opened in the same location in lincoln park.

it started off great- the decor is definitely an upgrade, the servers and hostesses were very friendly, and we were seated quickly. this is much better than the service from the previous restaurant.

the food is ok- definitely nothing special. the tacos are flavoured poorly. the burgers are pretty basic; nothing to write home about. portions were appropriate and food was served warm.

our waitress was running around trying to make her 6 or 7 tables happy and for the most part did a great job. she was attentive however clearly too busy. i counted 3-4 people sitting around the hostess station often; perhaps one of them could have helped her out.

the "managers" (i use that term only to describe their job function, not in reference to anything they were actually doing), were wandering around the restaurant, not talking to anyone, and returning to either the front desk or the bar area- the male "manager" must have had a lot of texting emergencies to deal with, he spent a good portion of the time we were there typing and surfing on his phone.

if i hadn't become so accustomed to the poor quality and service at local 002, i'd probably have said i wouldn't be back to "spot on". unfortunately, given i am very close to this restaurant, i will probably come back when i am in the mood for an average meal, and to see how management at restaurants enjoy the good life, checking sports scores and their twitter feed on their phones instead of dealing with issues in the restaurant.

it's been awhile since i came to this location as it used to be another part of the franchise "local"
today i walked in and was greeted by a hostess who was more than welcoming. our server was quick and on the ball. i enjoy the environment as it's relaxed and comfortable. we ordered our meal (burger and pint night) so burgers were $10-$14 and pints are $5 which is a nice relief to the usual. burgers were unreal i could barely finish. i don't know which bar the other person who wrote the review before me was at but i only paid $5 today. i hope this place kicks off well in this area and becomes more successful than the "local" franchise. i've been to 4th spot near downtown and i love it. keep it up guys. i'll be back.

i didn't eat here......just am finishing my $7 beer lol and going to the garrison pub or bella roma where i won't be overcharged.

-----12 mar, 2015-----

another overpriced local pub........ it's day 2 of their opening and i am drinking a $7 pint of draft beer. that is the cheapest pint on the menu. the food list, while extensive, has the same prices as an airport bar !!!

concorde group failed here as did others beford it.......and this place will as well. when are bar owners going to understand that when there are 3-5 other places within a $5 cab ride that are
