a spiritual eating experience. late lunch at the spirit house...what a magical experience...the food was delicious - enjoyable and our party all felt blissed out from the food, atmosphere and great service. the thai basic panacotta with star anise meringue was amazing! try it to believe the melt in the mouth meringue in a totally unexpected shape. thank you spirit house!

over rated and over priced. a path way of tea lights lead us to a tropical forest to the dining area. 9/10 for ambience although a few mosquitos.
meals were very small and delicate meats like red emperor and chicken over powered with sauces. will not be returning.

we visited the spirit house for dinner with another couple. all the food was outstanding. the salmon soup was particularly good! we all enjoy thai food, and we were not disappointed. we started with a few cocktails & beers. then ordered 4 entrees, followed by 3 mains and rice, and desert with coffee. we shared all the meals. this was ample for the 4 of us. all the food was served promptly, was fresh & flavourful. wait staff were knowledgable, friendly & attentive. the surrounding gardens at night are stunning. all in all, one of the best dining experiences we have had in years. highly recommended!

whole crispy fish with tamarind chili sauce. one of the most amazing things i have ever eaten. and i have eaten a lot ;)

farming men. we drove down expecting a night of mouth watering food to be sadly disappointed . the waitress was pushing for us to share dishes and after having the meals served we understood why . the pork was dry and the falling off the fork beef needed a chain saw . the men left starving . no dishes come with rice so if you need to bulk up a dish you pay $8 for a cup of hard boiled rice . i think most meals are made earlier in the day and left under warmers to stew . we laughed that if a mcdonald's was next door they'd do a roaring trade of hungry husbands after dinner , 1/10 for the surroundings and nice waitress

we couldn’t go pass the whole crispy fish with tamarind chilli sauce ($53). it was a deep fried snapper of about 800g to 1kg with a sweet, sour and spicy sauce.

disappointed. i didn't particularly enjoy the cooking lesson. i'm not a particularly skilled cook. i found the teaching hard to follow as we made a number of dishes at the same time. because of this i came away with little idea of how to construct each dish as a single process. i often felt confused about what we were doing. the instructor also talked very fast and sometimes i found it hard to hear/understand him. i have found it difficult subsequently to cook the dishes at home.

yana vonta. the best place on sunshine coast .the flavors were perfect , all very tasty and the smell of the food comng out of the kitchen was the best and it made you hungryer . i strongly recoment isourit house to any one who wants somthing special or take a special somone to a great souraundings of lush gardens perfect atmosfere and the best tasty yumy food .
great service , extremly caring staff that dotes on you and bend themselfs for you to make shure you understand the flavors . after 3 days ee are still talkung about it as the food was perfect ... thank you spirit house and staff .
my girlfriend was from adelaide and we loved the 4 scollops and the pork with caramel glaze souse oh so yumy
could we please organise a recepie as they went back to adelaide pretty please

travelled from melbourne to return to the spirit house after a couple of years, this time at night for dinner with my partner. the pouring dampened my excitement but the food and service lived up to my ravings. the salmon soup was so much nicer than i expected - good choice april. the crispy pork belly has to be my favourite, they got the explosion of flavours spot on here. i need to work through all the starters. the massaman curry was too heavy with star anise and cinnamon for my liking and crispy fish a little dry. but wow the dessert. lemongrass meringue, lime mousse and perfect quinelle of basil sorbet to look like a whole lime - yum yum yum!! spirit house is still in my top 10 world wide thai restaurants.

disappointed 9/8/14. very disappointed with spirit house. first went 3 years ago and was amazed, left saturday night disappointed.
the food seemed heavy with too much flavouring (making the experience of eating almost confusing!) or thick with coconut milk or fried....:there was a lack of 'light and freshness, the rice was hard and i craved the multifaceted play of flavours per mouthful, which was an original experience...

very disapointing for $ 189.00 i felt sick the whole night (1/10). we went to this restaurant with very high expectations, considering the previous reviews. from the banquet menu we chose, only the soup was of any selection, the rest of the meals were way below average and way over priced. the entry scallop and pork belly failed to delivered much in taste and as food presence.the fish was something out of the prehistoric era, very dry, sweet and spicy hot, the lamb masaman curry on the same line, full of grease and the accompanying "bread" soaking of fat quiet sickening actually. the green papaya salad was very sad no taste and very stringy. i suggest to the chef every now and than take a look at what you serve as people are paying $14 for a sad cube of pork belly or a disappointing and tasteless scallop. sorry to say but the only good part was the service. will not go back.

9/10. im out of words for this restaurant. the food is absolutely amazing. the ambience matches the location and type of cuisine. everything just seems to work at this place. will definitely pass it on to friends and family.

just divine. dinner on wednesday night for my partners birthday.

service was impeccable, the glasses of french champagne i had requested were bought out as we sat down. ordered the soft shell crab as an entree (just stunning) salt & pepper bugs for main (the bugs were beautiful but not a traditional salt and pepper) and curried pork belly (don't even consider it when you read the menu, just order it- best ever) and chocolate tureen for desert (including candle and happy birthday).

the service by jenny, timing of the meals and the whole night was just perfect. can't rate it highly enough.
