ready for this little dime? sol food. if you haven’t heard already, let me introduce you to some sol food right across the golden gate bridge. i know, i know. it’s a bit of a trek for some of us. but trust me. it’s worth it. thisplacehas 4.5 stars on yelp over 1900 reviews. and i’m just hearing of it now. are you kidding me? i’ve been living under a rock. i haven’t had this amazing puerto rican food in a while. pretty much everything about thisplacescreams authentic. like. even the entire building on the outside is painted a bright lime green, while the interior is whimsically themed with colorful walls, cultural artifacts, and foot traffic. speaking of foot traffic. thisplaceis not short of it. lines are usually out the door and spilling onto the sidewalk, but don’t worry. it moves fast. you order at the counter, then find a seat anywhere you like. (so make sure you have an idea of what you want to order before you get to the front) while i was holding down some seats at a commu

thisplacerocks!. i been thisplacewhen they started tiny in a whole in the wall.the firstplacewas ""tiny"" and the parking and seating was poor if that but not the food! then they build a 2nd location in which it was by far better and more parking and more seating the best thing they done! the first loction did moved to a biggerplaceand kindly hard to find at first but the parking is ok and the seating ok as well!

the food is outstanding! when i used to go there every week-end with family or few of my friends they are hooked from this place! saddly, i am no longer in ca. i am in fl in which its slight better but not the heat wave! my back ground is spainsh and jewish and i do almost the same as sol foods but not as good as them!

cubano. only had the cuban sandwich,...but that is cuban sandwich. damm good. will be back for dinner. can finally reccomend aplaceto eat in san rafael. great menu

sol food for the soul. the building is an astonishing green color which prompted much local debate and a nasty letter, proudly framed at their front door.

i can't help with anything on the menu except the cubano sandwich, because after i ordered it the first time, i can't set foot in theplacewithout having it again and again, and yes, the hot sauce is so amazing, i smother the cubano in it. i even bought a corked bottle of the stuff to take home. it's mind-bending.

on the take-out side, we met several people who don't live nearby but made a point of stopping in to pick up a lunch. they all said the flavors were pulling them back for more....

it's a "secret" that regular customers can share, with just a glance.....

funplacein san rafael, california. update: there are now three sol locations on the same block. one has a patio. we discovered this as we were walking off our awesome cuban sandwich and plantain chips! i do love sol food!!

my little sister told me that there is almost always a line out the door and down the street. yes! stand in it. enjoy your table mates. the food is great!!

comida criolla. i lived in puerto rico for many years, and since my wife and i moved to the bay area, we've been searching for a good puerto rican or caribbean restaurant. this is theplaceto go. the food is the real thing, not something watered down to please limited tastes. we haven't been to parada 22 in sf yet, but as i understand the menu was created by my good friend gloria pinette, my food stylist in many food tv comercials, so it has to be good too. now, will someone bring a real cuban place. by the way, what does the heading say brasilian & portuguese food?

full of fresh flavors! my wife and i stopped here on the way to napa...it was a great move. don't go looking for a fancyplaceto sit and dine. go because you love unique caribbean flavors. the chicken is roasted to perfection and you'll find fresh and unique ingredients covering their sandwiches.

worth the wait. ok, so expect long lines and table sharing. if you know that going in, then you'll be set. food is very fresh, flavorful, and authentic. whether puerto rican cuisine is old hat or new faire, thisplacedoes not dissapoint.

if my boyfriend and i are within thirty minutes of theplacewe will go...it's absolutely the best. we recommend the bistec (his favorite) and the pollo (mine) both are bursting with flavor from the chicken melted with cheese on a roll, with spinach and warm tomatoes all with plenty of there puerto rican hot sauce to make the sandwhich somewhat of a spicy dip.fried plaintains make the. perfect accent to this already filling meal. not to mention they make it twice as convenient with a second restaurant down the street for "to go" meals only. you can sit outside also if u prefer. sol food is a true authentic puerto rican dining experience and an absolutely delicious one at that!! :)

fabulous organic food. love their camerones and grass fed beef. my favoriteplaceto eat.
