sobou. ok tried all but not worth a repeat. poor service and they realized it and gave us some pumpkin beignets gratis since it took so long for our dinner to come out. the meals while interesting were fair, nice decor but not enough to overcome the mediocre service and quality of the cuisine. there are too many wonderful restaurants in new orleans to go here.

going to sobou and not trying one of its signatures could be considered criminal, especially when it's the foie gras burger

always eat here during a visit to n.o.. menu changes seasonally & it's always great! you can't beat the prices at lunch for the quality of food & the 25cent martinis. as a native, i know good food & this is good. free valet parking is the cherry on top!

disappointing. went here for lunch and left disappointed. the cocktail that i wanted -- which i saw on their website -- their bartenders didn't know how to make. i didn't think the sweet potato beignets nor the white chocolate/cherries jubilee bread pudding were anything special. i will say that the hostess and server were top-notch. won't go back.

the burger isn’t huge, but it sure makes up for it in rich fatty salty goodness. juicy patty with a good slab of foie gras – seared perfectly all around the edges, crispy crust and a melt in your mouth luscious center.

descent food - service/management needs work. took a trip to nola with some girlfriends - my flight came in later, so i met them for dinner after they had already started. it was hard to get the waitresses attention - finally got a menu. the small bites sobou burger was perfect for a late night snack. i also enjoyed the wines on tap that allowed you to choose different wines and different portions (sip, taste, glass - not sure on the exact wording). it took a while to get the checks - when we finally did, my group just split the bill 6 ways - since i ended up paying 10 dollars more than i actually ate/drank, my friends offered to put more down on their tips so i didn't have to put a tip. later to find out, the waitress gave herself over a 20% tip on my credit card. after 2 phone calls and multiple emails, i still have yet to see the credit back to my card over 2 months ago.

tasty fun. eclectic mix for adventurous tastebuds - cracklins were super along with their relish, but please put it in a container that isn't so tiny and hard to get into! poor man's foie gras (chicken liver) was tasty with terrific pickled topping and cute presentation. boudin balls a must; sweet potato beignets to die for. geaux fish not as terrif (huge serving, eeks), beer nuts a bit burned. with so many inexpensive and innovative tastes, a few misses weren't the end of the world. wished we'd saved room for dessert -

i will have to say the food (boudin balls & tuna escabeche) were very good. the service was awful. we (my girlfriend and i) were seated quickly, but that was the extent of the quick/friendly service. our waitress either never put in our order for the beignets or forgot. the kitchen was so overwhelmed that our entrees came out 45 minutes after our appetizer. we were ignored not only by our waitress, but the maître d, and the other waitstaff. i would not recommend sobou based on the waitstaff. as i said before, the food was very good, but i expected more from a restaurant with the lineage behind its name.

modern and chic, this eatery will take you away from the norm of the day-to-day and whisk you into a hip and uniquely-designed space for all things enjoyable. the spacious bar area, lounge setting, and expansive main dining room allows for great times and memorable meals not to be forgotten.

great eclectic menu. i dined here on 9/28 for the second time. the menu is better than the last time, always changing. the ribs and spicy cotton candy was a big surprise. portions are small, but allows you to sample different entree's of southern gourmet cuisine. as previous reviews have stated on here about quality or quantity, this restaurant isn't an all you can eat buffet. i suspect the last two reviewers are disgruntled former employees or competition since they have recently joined urbanspoon. also, i had the same waitress that served me the last time i was here and she provided great service again.

rich comfort food. this is a great addition to the w hotel french quarter. plates are small, but rich in taste with attentive service. i would not bring the kids to this one since the environment is catered for adults and there just isn't a kids menu.

soooo not what i expected! service was amateur and the food was very disappointing. portions looked as if i'd ordered from a child's menu. also ordered the pink elephant martini which was on the sweet side, but pretty good. however when i ordered another, i got a completely different drink (that was red, not pink like the other) that tasted as awful as cough syrup. when i told the server, her reply was that the other bartender was just filling in for the real bartender who was now here & this is how the drink is really supposed to taste with no offer of a replacement. this was @ the end of the meal & @ this point, i was just ready to leave. it's hard to believe this restaurant is associated with commander's & the w. save your money!

fair to good. we ate here for lunch and found the atmosphere to be interesting, but the food was fair. out selections included the tuna cones, crispy oyster tacos, and the sliders. a lot of attention was given to the presentation of the food, but the flavors were a bit disappointing. service was good. drinks were good.
