great food with an even better atmosphere. the burgers were great. sat at the bar at 11:00am on thursday, seated right away. the servers were very friendly but the bartender that ended up taking care of us totally stole the show! he was incredibly entertaining, kept our glasses full and made perfect recommendations for our burger choices.

if you go, cozy up to the bar, order a burger and have agreatconversation with the best bartender in milwaukee.

delicious!. have had sobelman's on my wish list for awhile and finally had time to stop on the way home from chicago. we were seated right before the lunch rush and it was quite a rush - forgot today was opening day of baseball season. everyone is welcome here - regulars, tourists, passers by, and it all feels low-key and relaxed from the minute the bartender greets you as you enter the door.

i had spotted cow on tap - fantastic just the right temperature - and the boys had diet coke in a can - but they brought big ice-filled glasses to make it cold.

and now for the burgers - excellent - the toasted buns make it perfect, and they have a thing for jalapenos in their ketchup and added to any burger. and i did appreciate the waft of a just-cleaned countertop when i walked in - turns out the owner is fussy about clean and that is often missing from the places that have "been here forever". what agreatplace - will definitely go again!

we came from dallas, tx and looking for agreathamburger we found it, i had the looser and it was soooo good.... will be back!!!!

sobelman's is a very popular milwaukee tavern/burger joint that is also one of the best kept tied house's i have ever seen. it's very clean and while still very old, almost feels like new. it fits ingreatin the industrial part of town amongst the factories which are really the only things near it. it's not below the radar or anything like that and has been featured in many publications, top burger lists and seen on travel channel/food network etc...

good bun but.....greatbun! terrible burger! best bun i ever had,greattoppings, burger itself was gray and dry, pre-made from the freezer section, maybe?.....merry this bun to the burger at hamburger mary's......

the locals eat here. when i arrived in milwaukee i immediately headed to the market downtown. i asked ever vendor there where i could get the best burger in the ciy they all said sobelman's pub.
took my two daughters and my son in law there and wow. what a burger! don't miss this place.
couple of pointers get there early it is a tiny place. good beer selection on tap andgreatappetizers. i started with a local tap and when i sat i had thier bloody mary (a feast in itself). the burgers sooo good and the bun outstanding.

glad i didnt use my money. my brother got me a gift card to go here and said he did cause he wanted my husband and i to have a good burger. ha.

while im sure itsgreatany other day the day we went they had no buns... how does a burger place have no buns... our burgers came on toast. it was sooo busy and understaffed that they had a person from the back take our order, and if i didn't know any spanish... well our order prolly wouldn't have gotten taken at all by her cause she knew minimal english and knew nothing about the menu at all. what made everything even worse was i ordered a mushroom burger and the mushrooms were canned.... to me, a person who loves mushrooms, this makes all the difference. id seriously rather have stayed home and made my own burger.

friendly. i enjoy a place that has friendly service and this place has it. as an older woman, these places tend to brush us off, but not here -greatfood, and the owner even walked me out to my car!

best! hands down!. this pub is agreatplace for the juiciest and most flavor filled burger i have tasted(the sobleman burger). from the bun to the bacon, there is something special going in the kitchen there! the owner/bartender is agreatperson, filled with enthusiasm to see you like a best friend. i will visit there many more times and take as many people with that i can! a mustexperience place!!!!

awesome burger. i admit that i haven't tried all the burger joints in milwaukee, but this place was great. fun, smaller place w/nice people. the burgers weregreatand not greasy. if you're looking for healthy salads & veggies - probably not your place. but if you like your occassional good burger & fries/onion rings - this is agreatplace.

sports bar?. sobelman's hasgreatburgers. how you could possibly call this place a sports bar is beyond me. have been there 10-15 times and i couldn't even tell you if they have a tv...burgers recommended - not a sports bar, though!
