so restaurant-bar

stole money!!. tried the restaurant for the first time the other night, everything seemedgreatat first. we ordered a steak, rare; it came back well done. not the biggest deal, we sent it back and 20 minutes later finally got a rare steak, but this time the polenta was undercooked. we decided not to make a big deal about it, paid the bill, left a 20% tip anyway and left. couple days later, we checked our bank statement and noticed we had been charged an extra $100. after calling multiple times and being promised the money would be refunded promptly; it wasn't. a week later, part of the bill had been refunded. tried calling again, and this time they wouldn't answer our call, so we went in and confronted them about it. we got the money back finally, but never again will we go back.

absolutely phenomenal from start to finish.... every single aspect of my experience at so was amazing. the food was perfection in every way. the environment was comfortable yet intriguing. our server, kyle, was knowledgeable, hilarious, and personable. the food? oh, the food... i had the chicken apricot marsala and can attest to it being the best (by a long shot) chicken dish i've ever experienced. i questioned my decision to order a chicken dish multiple times up until the point i put the first bite in my mouth. my date's meal was equally delicious! while we planned to share our dishes with one another because of our lack of decisiveness, we both selfishly devoured all but one shared bite. i highly recommend this restaurant for agreatnight.

that although the wine list is great, it is not uncommon for them to only have 1 of the bottle you order. that has happened to us almost every time we have eaten there, which is a lot. but that's the only negative which isn't bad enough to keep me away! i still love the place!

one of my local favorites! delicious fresh food with good ingredients,greatwine list and fabulous atmosphere.

whatgreatdining should be.greatexperience at so for our group of 8 - awesome food, wonderful service,greatambiance. this was our second time to dine at so over about 6 months time, and both experiences were great!

spoil me !!. looking for a quaint place to get away from screaming kids and the stress of life? want to get the girls together for a drink because it’s been to long? trying to impress a date or an out of towner? then, i would highly recommend so restaurant and bar then. the staff is friendly and makes you feel like a priority, like you’re the only one in the restaurant even though that is never the case. the patio is agreatescape with a beautiful view of a flower garden below. the owner of this restaurant can be easily spotted in glitz and high fashionable outfits and her kindness is overflowing. veo is by far one of the best reasons to dine at so. he is the most consistent bar tender i’ve ever followed around. i recommend the primo louis filet (crab on top of steak) or the surf n turf. if you walk out of the restaurant without a chocolate sack or jeannie’s (owner) tres leche you haven’t completed such a life changing experience. we tell everyone we know, go to so!

the best!. i have been here a handful of times, and every time it has been great. once the steak was overcooked, but they took it back and did everything in their power to remedy the situation. they cook a lot of food, sometimes it isn't going to be perfect and the way someone handles a mistake says way more about them than the fact that they made it in the first place. everyone does. but enough about that, we have come in on nights busy and slow and every time it is fantastic. bill the manager always has cool wines that are not on the list, and the list itself is amazing. the best i've ever seen for such a modelst place. food is alwaysgreatand the people are usually so friendly. veo at the bar has been a friend of mine for a long time, since he was at cajun's wharf back in the day :) trey usually waits on us and does a fantastic job. he's really knowledgable and friendly. he wasn't in last time and the long haired guy took care of us and did an outstanding job as well. he was personable and very attentive, but not annoying about it. we will definitely be back!!

disapointing. the oyster were really fresh and delicious. that was the high point of our diner. for the rest, it was way over priced for a medium quality food. food was cold (we ask them to warm up our plates and it came back as cold) and a little blend. the gravlax was not a gravlax. the calamari were way over cooked. i cannot believe how awfull the cheeses were. the sea scallop over cooked and dry. the black ink linguini mooshy and cold. the lamb shop served blue instead of medium rare. the creme brule was liquid...seriously like a soup! a risotto is supposed to be creamy and runny, not gummy and absolutly not so thick that is it presented as a tour on the plate! definitly not appropriate for a french palette. for agreatdiner experience, i will go in a downtown hotel the next time.

outstanding. we love going to so's.greatfood, and you really need to try the chocolate sack. i would rate this 5 stars.

had to wine about the delay in our food.. arrived around 6:30pm sat to an uncrowded restaurant. while waiting for another couple, we ordered a nice bottle of chateuneuf du pape to start the evening. we also asked for any "off menu" available wines for the evening. after picking a nice bottle, our party arrived and we were promptly seated.

with all going smoothly and appetizers almost completed, the server conferred with me on opening the bottle we picked earlier and planned to enjoy with our entrees.

opened, decanted, served, and our apps finished, we waited patiently for our entrees. after 20+ minutes of no food and no server, we started to notice approx 6 surrounding tables seated 10-15 minutes after us, all received their entrees. we also noticed how our decanter of wine was beginning to dwindle with each passing plate to the other tables.

amazingly after mentioning to the owner, the situation unfolding around us, our entrees were magically on their way from the kitchen.

nothing sours my opinion of a place more than a server/restaurant that tries to milk a table in the hopes of it purchasing additional liquor/bottles of wine by delaying a dinner order or conversely heavy pouring wines you wish to enjoy with your meal. shame on you so!!!

our food wasgreatas always (the demi glace was salty though) but the wine situation has put us on guard for future visits.
