great food and great service. the place was pack and i could tell why as soon as my fisherman's platter arrived. the blacked fish was excellent and the crab cakes were the best i've had. definitely my favorite place to go in the area. i'll be back.

i have been buying seafood at the market for about four years and it’s always great. i had company in town and decided to take them there for dinner, my first time. we where very disappointed. the grouper was fishy tasting and my coconut shrimp was dry and the shrimp was old i think. i’m not going back to eat there, buy seafood and fix at home.

how in the hell is basa $13.95 when in any market it costs $2.99 to $3.99 a lb? grouper nuggets, not even a filet $20!!! someone dropped them on their heads. i am an excellent cook, i will get my own fish and use french bread breadcrumbs and organic ingredients and spices. they don't even do anything special to the food to charge this much. the prices are ridiculous here. the quality does not measure up to the prices. no sharing, no substitutions, what if someone does not want the saggy hush puppies? thanks, but no thanks.

skip 1 seafood market and restaurant, tamiami trail, fort myers, fl., here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. oh my the fresh food. first the in-house perfectly sweeten ice cold tea.excellent.... my sides. in house made creamy potatoe salad with a tad of red & green bell peppers mmmmm. fresh and crunchy coleslaw. old school delight. now my just got out of the ocean seafood platter. four jumbo size local shrimp, 4 or so tender scallops, .....crunchy though a bit chewy fried to perfection clams. a good size fish filet to add tartar sauce and malt vinegar for those english fish and chip fan. ahhhh lets not forget the 4-5 inch diameter crab cake,  loaded with crab and those bell peppers for taste.
this is old school atmosphere with as it should be fresh fish. a reminder of better, slower day. the old world beach charm. with a fresh market case to select from the fish monger and carry home the next day meal.
or if you prefer, all you want and can eat from shrimp or grouper, sunday - thursday entrees. at a reasonable price. good prices of $15- 39 bucks plus in between...or for the smaller appetite a singular but outstanding meal.
you must try this 30 plus year old traditional florida eatery.
note: you can miss it driving south on 41/tamiami trail(right side). it is place back from the roadway.....it has 1 shaded handicapped space, in front of the main entrance, next to seating under some trees. there are 3 other parking spaces in front. but lots of parking in the rear of the establishment.
for all the snowbirds, newbies and old farts who has retired here , come check out this place.

hidden little gem. they have a small selection of fresh seafood which was seasoned and grilled very well, and sunday thru thursday have some great all you can eat specials with catfish and grouper. however the place is divey but not in a bad way so don't go in expecting a 5 star dining area and you won't be disappointed. food is basic, but is good and service was good as well.

do not judge a book by its cover, you will miss out.... i was driving around looking for the "hole in the wall" type of restaurant. i have never heard of this place, and when i saw the outside, i was like, "lets go there and try it".

never, ever judge a book by its cover. i felt there was something about this place when we had to wait 20 minutes for a table.the food in this place was fantastic and rightfully priced. the fried shrimp popped in your mouth, it was cooked to perfection. my wife is from the bahamas, and she said the bahamian conch chowder was cooked to perfection and was the best she has ever had (conch pieces were a little small though). my blackened mahi mahi was large in portion and succulent in flavor.

we ordered: 2 x heinekens, 2 x sodas, 2 x salad and chowder (new england and bahamian), 2 x conch fritters (8 pieces each), 1 x child's fried shrimp and fries, 1/2 pound of spicy steamed shrimp, and the blackened mahi mahi. total cost minus tip, $71.71.

all you yankees stay away from this place, leave it for the locals to enjoy.
