stopped in to sister sadie today for brunch with my girlfriend. i've eaten in their 'sister' restaurant brother hubbard numerous times so was eager to check it. when we arrived a little after one the place was busy but there was still tables free. i walked in and immediately said hello to one of the waiters who said hello back before quickly walking off. after this brief welcome we then stood as a line formed behind us for five minutes before we were acknowledged again, not a great start.
once we were shown to a table the service was quick and pleasant. i ordered a glass of orange juice which was beautifully fresh with lots of nice bits. for food i went for the the sister sadie beans classic, which consisted of beans with whipped feta topped with a fried egg. the beans had a lovely flavour but the dish as a whole could have benefited from more of the beautiful whipped feta. as brunch dishes go it wasgoodwithout being spectacular.
we attempted to pay with card which resulted in having to bring the bill to the counter, which also acts as the packed waiting area, the system in this regard could certainly be improved.
while neither of us could find fault with the food it just lacked something that would bring me back week after week. brunch is arguably becoming the most competitive meal in this part of dublin and the few issues i've noted above just let sister sadie down.
brunch for two came to €26.
