over priced for the quality of food. steaks were okay not worth the price. armadillo eggs were nothing but frozen food like you purchase at sonic. french fries were the cheap frozen type.
i don't mind paying for good food and service, you will get neither of these at silver star.

best bbq in shreveport-bossier. absolutely, the best bbq in town. great food, great service...i like the southern style sandwich, au gratin potatoes, and the smoked turkey (or steak) salad. great food and service.

severely disappointed in the food, service, and presentation. the lowest point of the restaurant is the short shorts worn by the waitresses. during my time there i saw the shorts being pulled down in all areas multiple times by multiple waitresses. they then put their hands on the cups and plates. i could not help but be disgusted. when you sell a 38 dollar steak, at least make sure that the servers are dressed in clothes appropriate to serve food in a sanitary manner.

nice ribs low key atmosphere. this was my second choice as the first was closed. i had wanted to try this place for a while so i said "what the heck". i went at about 5 pm. glad i did it started to get crowded around 5:30. ordered the ribs they were served with bread and a baked potato. i have to say the ribs were very good well smoked. i didn't even have to put sauce on them. the baked potato was really good haven't had one like that in quite some time. seemed like at that hour most were of a senior age category. not a bad thing. only thing was the waitresses were the trashy cowgirl type. but whatever floats your boat...the clicking cowboy boots was getting on my nerves. anyway i would go back.... food was really good.

good stuff. good burgers, awesome baked potatoes, and yummy barbeque. i also really enjoyed the onion and jalapeno straws they have for appetizers!

service can be slow and a little rough (i've resorted to just getting up and finding a tray of ketchup to take one from after waiting for ten minutes), but i'm sure it's just because they're usually fairly busy and a little absent minded. nothing to really gripe too much about.

not the most amazing place ever, but very good!

so here's the objective honest truth...this is a very mediocre bbq joint. i ordered the 3 meat plate. i paid an extra $1 to upgrade to brisket for one of the meats. i got 4 1" x 2" rectanges of brisket. they were very dry, and it took a lot of bbq sauce to add the moisture needed to consume the brisket. the plate came with 2 very small ribs, they were ok. good bit of sausage, and it was good...the sides were pretty good (i got beans and au gratin potatoes), but the quality and quantity of meat was not worth $19. i kind of felt jipped. if it were a $11 meal, then ok.

probably not a good choice for people that really know and like their bbq. bummer.

it was my third and last time to eat here. steak was cold, burnt(ordered med rare) and tons of gristle! my date had the same problem. sent back my cold asparagus, it was awful too. our waiter was awesome and did all she could to make up for the bad food. at $300 for 4 people, it was.... way over priced!! i could buy my own great cut of meat and do a better job. sad part, i was entertaining my friends from houston and was embarrassed.

nice scenery and great bbq. wait staff is attentive and friendly. my go to is the two meat plate with brisket and ribs. their ribs are up there at the top of my list. potato salad and beans are really good as well. i'm not a big salad eater but their grilled chicken salad is great. everyone i have taken here has really enjoyed even the texas bbq snobs. definitely my favorite bbq joint in shreveport/bossier area.

i loved the lunch experience!!!! i had been a few years back during dinner and didn't enjoy anything. (food was just ok and it wasn't busy, but since i was in a group of women we were ignored while the male patrons were favored. plus the waitresses always seem to have something, or everything, hanging out of their outfits) anyway, i tried it again recently at lunch time on a sunday because they are one of the few places open. i have to admit it was great! food was wonderful and waitress was well covered up and attentive. my boyfriend gave me a bite of his burger and it was crazy good.
i definitely recommend going mid-day or order from the take out menu. its much more affordable too!

highly satisfied. they have the best sweet tea. fried pickles are good, but the ribeye knocked my socks off. i prefer my husband's smoked ribs with a dry rub, but their ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. you must try the cheesy scalloped potatoes! i would definitely go back.

this was my very first time here and i was not impressed. a local recommended it to me as one of the best in the area and it did not live up to the hype. i ordered a ribeye which was $30+ but i was okay with the price based on my expectations, but boy was it a let down. i've had better ribeye's from chain restaurants. i ordered my steak medium and it came out medium rare(cool red center) in case they didn't know lol. for the price i was expecting it to wow me and that wasn't the case. i can't speak for the bbq which seemed to be the favorite once i observed what others were eating. my server was quick and attentive but not the friendliest. i come visit the area once a month for business and to be honest i will give this place another shot but try the bbq instead.

i know this is my second review...but.... alright. i went with a group from work-on their dime. i figured i could at least give silver star a chance to redeem themselves, especially since it was nothing out of my pocket this time.

there were four of us, all ladies. we walked in and were promptly ignored. what i mean by this is that there was a server/hostess right there and she walked away. of course, as a previous comment suggested, when a group of three men came in right after us, two servers and the original hostess magically appeared.

and, as another comment stated, we watched hostesses routinely-routinely-pull their pants out of every crevice a woman has...then deliver food. it was almost a choreographed dance routine-step into a semi-private area, where only a few people could see (one of my coworkers suggested maybe the servers felt like since we're chicks, we "get" pulling pants out of those places. i still don't want to see it.), squat, pull, pull, shimmy. seriously.

so...ok. in all seriousness, if you're the owner and read this, please have a chat with your wait staff about appropriate attire/not pulling pants out of your...erm...you get the idea. it's so obvious that they're catering to men that it borders on pathetic, so i guess that's why they figure they have to wear stuff like that. but ladies frequent your establishment too...and to be treated like crapp, then to have servers give us our food with "diggy fingers" is not acceptable.

first time, last time. went to silver star for the first time this weekend. i'm not a cheapo, but i don't really expect to spend 60 bucks for two people to eat barbeque. server was efficient as all hades, but we were left feeling more like hindrances than customers. food was pretty good, but not 60 bucks worth of good. agree with previous reviewer-if you're a female going in to eat, be prepared to get less than great service-this place is definitely suited for men, from the daisy duke wearing barely-legals to the hee-hawing next door in the bar. not being a true southern belle myself, this place was definitely not my scene and i doubt i'll be returning. i pray not, anyway.

horrible service!!. horrible service! food was ok but the service was horrible! the waitresses are so busy entertaining each other you can't even get their attention. seems to be a recurring theme with the service. management needs to step in before they have no more customers. food is over priced for what you get.
