this is a lovelyrestaurantthat offers great quality food and good value for money.
loved the complimentary assortment of chutneys - mint, mango salsa, achaar, beetroot chutney and raita served along with papads. this was a treat in itself.
we ordered the mewa potato appetizer as starters, based on reading the various reviews recommending that item. however, in our opinion , that was the only average item in all that we had. we did not like it - especially the strong cheese smell. it was a bit dry and lacked punch and flavor.
the pani poori was good with an interesting twist and presentation style - especially liked the honey mustard pani which had a refreshing taste to it. you can have it either with cheese ( paneer) or chicken. we opted for the paneer option. you don’t really get to take the paneer as they are well inside the puris which also come with baby greens, pomegranates and sev.
for the main course, the lalla mussa daal was outstanding. the flaming granite veg was also very good. this paired well with coriander chilli parotta and sesame zaatar naan. the falooda kulfi was delicious as well.
the service was ok overall but needs some improvement, given that this a fine dining restaurant. more needs to be done from an hospitality standpoint to make the guest feel comfortable. the meet and greet experience by the person in the front needs drastic improvement - the indian person there needs to learn how to smile and make the guests comfortable . he was robotic in his approach without a smile.
the other waiters were courteous overall but a tad bit of improvement is needed in order to do a better job of explaining the dishes , going over the menu , and being more attentive, replenish papad and chutneys etc. without the guest asking multiple times. but overall the service was courteous and good, especially by the nepali waiter and filipina staff who served us.
