sierra bonita grill

small menu, but a ton of great flavor.

we were looking for a nice place fordinnerand lucked into the sierra bonita. not sure what to expect, so we went in with open minds. the menu is not as wide ranging as some places, but that is just fine, because what they do have is excellent. i had the shrimp with veggie noodles and everything was cooked perfectly. the shrimp were massive. my colleague had a steak and he said it was the most tender and tasty one he has had in some time. this is the place to hit in phoenix!

very good southwestern atmosphere and food. i was very satisfied with my recentdinnerhere. if you're in the mood for a southwestern theme, sierra bonita may be what you're looking for. atmosphere is spot on; warm lighting, wood tone, decor, cowboy/southwest theme prints on the wall, country & western music. had a very tastydinnerof guacamole (made in molcajete) with chips and three salsas followed by the main course of pork osso bucco. the pork entree is a pork shank tenderly cooked to perfection. it is served in a small cast iron skillet with green chile and cheddar mashed potatoes, roasted baby carrots, cipollin onions, zucchini, and hatch green chile sauce. wow...very comforting and filling. many other greatdinnerchoices including cowboy stew, corn husk baked wild fish, buttermilk chicken, enchiladas suizas, chile pork roast, carne asada, etc. waiters were personable and attentive. mesquite burning chiminea located outside near the entrance gives a wonderful smell upon entering.

one of the best in the neighborhood. i was in town for work and we stayed in this general area and checked out several restaurants in the area. sbg has very fresh, tasty food with a great atmosphere and service. i've been twice, once for lunch and once fordinnerand both were great.

took an out of state client here fordinnerlast night on a whim. don't usually try a place the first time this way, but like to gamble sometimes. not really a gamble after checking out the reviews and the menu though. she liked it so much that she bought me a gift certificate so i would return. awesome ceviche, north central chicken, and i hate pork, but the sergio's pork that my partner had was to die for! so unlike the "piggy" tasting pork that turned me off to it forever, or so i thought, until i tasted this exquisite tenderloin dish. our service by kelton was impeccable, in spite of a very booked time, and i will not hesitate to return with another client or by ourselves next time we are needing down home, delicious cooking and service with a flair.

hidden southwestern gem. we had a groupdinnerhere last year, and the staff went out of there way to make it a great evening.
