a bit expensive for what you get. takes advantage of the college town atmosphere, with loan money to blow on ravenous sushi cravings. nevertheless, it is a decent place. the sushi and entree offerings are good, notwortha trip from atl good, but if in athens its a good option. very lively inside with music playing but not too loud, just enough to enjoy a good song if it comes on while talking to friends. much better japanese cuisine in ga, but a decent place to go.

one of the best choices of sushi in athens. food is towards the pricey side but it isworthit. best if you sit at the sushi bar. go find out for yourself why. you won't be disappointed.

great sushi. i loved the sushi here, the sushi chefs were very friendly. other than them, service was doubtful. i got a water with my meal, and i ran out half way through my meal, and no one ever refilled it or came by to check on us. and they were busy, but i saw some wait staff standing around at one point, and no one bothered to check on us. this restaurant is also very popular with frat and sorority people, and about 50% of the people in there were obviously belonging in that group. i didn't mind so much when i was in college, but now that i'm an old married person i tend to avoid the frattie college scene. but i tell you, the sushi isworthit. sit at the sushi bar if you can! i recommend...anything on the menu!!

super meh. fish: 3 stars
markedly better than grocery store sushi.

service: 2 stars
staffed exclusively by the most attractive college girls they can find. most of the time they don't give a damn... at all. they very frequently get my order wrong.

other menu items: 1 star
what other menu items? seriously though, while the other menu items aren't rancid, they aren'tworthpaying for either.

decor: 5 stars
there are lots of shiny things and blue lights in the establishment. it is staffed with lots of attractive women that don't care about your order at all. however, it would be wrong of me not to award them the 5 stars for what is seemingly the only thing they care about.

price: 2 stars/ 4 stars ( sitting at sushi bar)
they have been the only sushi game in town for years and they know it. you pay for this too, but its a far cry from highway robbery. it isworthmentioning that you get a free kani salad, baked mussel app., and tempura oreo desert if you sit at the sushi bar. this is awesome. the only drawback is that you might actually have to literally fight someone to get a seat. it is alsoworthmentioning that your very nice, attractive, wildly inattentive waitress will be expecting a huge tip.

lasting impressions: oh were they ever lasting. after eating here at least ten times, i just can't bring myself to do it anymore. there are so many better places to eat sushi elsewhere and so many better options for cuisine in athens. i'll have to try utage at some point but i hear it is owned by the same people.

ignore the other reviews. read this one.. i have been here...i can't count how many times.
occasionally the service is less than stellar, but only when it's really slow (meaning the servers don't care) and crazy busy (meaning the servers are crazy busy).

if you get the chance, sit at the sushi bar( if you like sushi, that is). they give you all kinds of freebies (salad, mussels, and fried oreos) just for hanging out.

the drinks are fairly pricey, but wellworthit.

food flies out of the kitchen, and it comes out of the sushi bar even faster. this may seem disconcerting, but the guys making the sushi are absolutely pros. one night, i ventured to eat my sushi without soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger. guess what? best sushi i ever had.

in most cases, dinner is served and done before i have had time to get halfway through my drink. yet, i have never felt rushed. add to that the fact that this place is open late.

i have not had much from the kitchen, to be honest. we usually get appetizers, but they typically arrive after our sushi is ready. still, the food we have had has been delicious.

i have worked in multiple 'sushi' restaurants before, in other cities and in other states. this is the only one i have ever had a meal at that i would return to again and again.

bad service. a group of friends and i went to shokitini's a few weeks ago. let me tell you, the food is notworththe service.

the interior looks great, and the karaoke parties sound fun, but don't be fooled. our server was lazy, making us fill up our own water cups and sauce bowls the entire night. she was not knowledgeable of the menu, including drink menu prices. she was also impolite, never speaking respectfully to us and often ignoring our table. unlucky for her, i remember her name: cassidy.

all in all, it was notworthour money or our time. there's plenty of sushi places that have great food and great service. i suggest going elsewhere.

notworthit. although this place is popular amongst the college crowd, the terrible service is notworthit. i have been twice in the last 2 months for people's birthday parties and have nothing but bad experiences with the wait staff. they advertise their ability to accommodate large groups, but they don't do well with it.

my first experience was on a night when about 10 of us were scheduled for an 8:30 reservation. we were not seated until 10:30.

the second time 16 of us rented a room (at a cost of $80 for two hours) and everyone ordered large meals and alcoholic drinks. in spite of how much money we were spending, the waitress (cassidy...terrible!!!) was rude to us the whole time. she had no tact with addressing us, she couldn't remember drink prices, was completely unfamiliar with the menu and couldn't answer our questions, didn't keep our drinks refilled, and worst of all---she kept spilling things as she brought things up the stairs and wouldn't offer us replacements. i would have been sympathetic towards her if she had been polite. after all, we were a large group, but on top of offering bad service...she was soooo rude! we totally shafted her on a tip though. she didn't deserve even as much as we gave her.

the second time was the worst and i will not be returning. this is not my own bad luck...it is a common trend at this restaurant. don't go. it isn'tworthit.

i recommend ru san's for a good sushi experience.
