pretty much expected, in a bid to satisfy my friday hunger pangs, i ended up ordering from shetty's. thankfully despite being in balmatta, they did deliver to kottara. so i happened to order what may not be considered as my staple non-vegetarian order pomfret masala fry,chickenurwal, tandoori aloo and prawn ghee roast. the ghee roast though cane with a good number of sizeable prawns, did not fare too well to my taste buds because if the overpowering taste of ghee. an ideal ghee roast should give you that burnt and spicy flavor every time you dig into the prawns coated with the rich masala. that wasn't happening in this case. now, to the pomfret, prized at 350 this was apparently the small size! honestly, it isn't that small! it may not look very good in the picture, but it tasted good. so, with masala fry, i like my fish to not be too deep fried and become stiff. instead i like it when it is tender and the masala is just about being soaked into its skin. this one was just the way i wanted it. on strictly the masala, it was the right kind of spicy without the need for too much water intake in between! urwal was a first time try and i found it to be an average cousin of the chinese preparation if manchurian. it has generics amounts of onion chopping and cashew bits and mostly laced in soya and tomato sauce. though there were other flavors but these were the overpowering ones. the dish came with about 8 pieces and thechickenwas tender. lastly to my surprising favorite out if the lot-tandoori aloo! this baby came with six odd potato pieces coated with spices and tenderly grilled on skewers. the taste was perfect with the occasional hint of the curd based coating. the potato was a little hard, just the way it should have been and it tasted just right when eaten with a dip of the green chillies and pudina chutney! this one bevan an instant favorite of mine. the pocket pinch is slightly on the higher end and delivery time is good.
