shark club sports bar & grill

shockingly bad.. stopped by to pick up some soup during my lunch break. the place wasn't busy at all. waited to be given a menu. waited to have my order taken. bartender flagged down the manager to get the soup from the kitchen. waited some more for him to bring it to me. watched while on the way over he stood there chatting while holding my soup. i was surprised to see that i'd paid $7 for about a cup of soup, that didn't come with bread and when i asked if it did, the manager said, no, but i can go and get you some crackers? gee you think? even more surprised when i took the soup from him and immediately noticed it was cold. when i pointed that out to him, he asked if i'd like him to go back and heat it up. having already waited far too long to receive it, i passed fearing i'd have no break left by thetimei got it back. i'm sorry but if the kitchen didn't notice it was cold, and if the manager of the whole place can take it from the kitchen, carry it across the bar in a think plastic container in his hands and not notice that there is no warmth coming from it, and said manager is like 40 years old and can't get soup right.... then there's not much hope left to even get it re-heated. i'm sure it would have been better not cold, but it tasted like the campbell's ready to eat roasted red pepeper you buy in the tetra pack box. unimpressed.

the firsttimei went it was alright, it was a pretty slow night but the service was very slow, we had drinks and wings. the secondtimei went was much better, our waitress was great despite it being packed before a jets vs nashville game. we had apps again and they were decent, mini mac sliders, tater tots and margherita pizza. will definitely be back

it was horrible . i went for chicken wings , waited 45 minutes for cold hot wings and rubbery carrots . the wings were small and the place was empty i don't understand why the food took forever . it was my firsttimethere too i was so disappointed .

steak sandwich mondays for $12 is all i need to say. $5 off is an amazing special and the sandwich is really great. early evening is usually a greattimeto come, not too busy, and so the service is good!

firsttimethere before hockey game. great atmosphere, good service, had some beers and wings and dirty chips. thought all was very good.

the new meatball skillet is amazing! it's literally spaghetti and meatballs with no noodles! service is always a little iffy when it's slow, where'd the servers disappear to? but definitely better than some places i've been where you don't see you server from thetimeyou order, till thetimeyou're leaving.

small portions and way too expensive.... the service was okay at lunch when i went, (mind you we were the only patrons). food was served fast. orders were correct, but the portions were laughable! my salad was in a tiny bowl, with barely any salad. pathetic. i had a chicken sandwich on what would amount to a small sized dinner roll. it should have been on a bun the piece of chicken i received was maybe 1/4 of a full size chicken breast. something you'd feed a cat, not a human being. after eating i was contemplating where else i could go to actually finish eating lunch. unfortunately, i was flat broke when it cametimeto pay. holy smokes, who dreamed up those prices, a saudi prince? you'd have to be rich to afford eating in this place. the concept of this place is to take young women and stick them in skin tight one piece mini-outfits with their boobs and arse barely covered. then serve pathetic portions of food for exaggerated prices. basically it's a scam, (right down to the cheezie adjacent casino room full of senior citizens)... my goodness, i won't be going back. this place is a complete joke!

much improved. i first visited this place shortly after they opened and didn't think too highly of it. i must admit, they have taken great strides by fixing what was wrong.

at heart this place is a sports bar. on weekend nights it converts into a nightclub. the space is split into two sections. one half is a bar/restaurant and the other half is a casino.

visually, the space is stunning. very sleek look and a lot of steel and glass. that was never the problem.

i find that the servers are quite friendly, attentive and prompt. the place can get busy, but i have usually been happy with the service.

my original concern with this place was that the food was average, at best. i must admit, they have stepped up their game. they have improved the quality of the menu items and they have added more items to the menu. recent additions like chicken and waffles are very good. you get a generous portion of crunch chicken fingers over a waffle. they serve it with a maple butter syrup on the side. there is a wide variety of items such as burgers, sandwiches, pizza, steaks and chicken. the pizza used to be a limp, tasteless mess, but they have changed the formulation and now cook it in a proper pizza oven. the result is a solid pizza. i think the main improvement is in the quality of the crust. don't get me wrong, you won't confuse it with the best in the city, but it holds it's own. given the underwhelming size, it is a tad overpriced. currently, i can recommend the burgers, steak sandwich, chicken and waffles and the chicken wings.

moxie's in a tuxedo?. i attended for lunch and the surroundings are very impressive. the food, however, is pretty average.

the place is split into two. one half is the bar/restaurant the other half is a casino. i only went into the bar/restaurant area. make no mistake, at heart it is a sports bar.

visually, it is stunning. they have captured a very sleek, upscale look. it has two tiers of seating with a bar centrally located on the main level. there are many video screens tuned to various sporting events. there is an electronic sign along the walls that has a scrolling banner giving sports news.

the staff are quite attentive and very friendly. they seem to have a genuine enthusiasm about them. my server was quick with the drink refills and we were checked on three or four times by managers to make sure we were being looked after. the food did not take a longtimeto arrive. i have been to a few places during their opening week and had to wait an hour for food...that was not the case here. i was pleasantly surprised by that.

the food quality was average. the pop was flat. i voiced my complaint and it was acknowledged, but i was still charged for the soft drink. i had a steak sandwich. the steak was about three inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide and maybe a half inch thick. the side salad was decent and the fries were below average. they are not very crisp or flavourful. the food is strikingly similar to what is served at moxie's. apparently the owners of the mts centre moxie's also own this place. the prices are also in line with moxie's. given how small the steak was, i thought the $15 price tag did not make my choice a very good value.

will i go back? very likely...however, i will order something else.

very disappointing overall. i have been to shark club in winnipeg about 4 times and have no plans to go back. i have never received good service, the waitresses are definitely not hired based on skill or intelligence. the only requirement i could see in common was how little clothing they were willing to wear and most of them aren't even attractive. the lasttimei went it took over 20 mins for our server to even notice we were there and when our food finally arrived after much trials in the ordering department with the genius waitress, it was undercooked and wrong. the server sent the manager to our table to deal with the issue because for some reason taking back food to the kitchen is complicated...? the manager didn't even understand what the problem was and had the most annoying shrill voice ever. we got sick of answering the same question over and over (no hamster in her wheel) so we got fed up with trying to explain the problem (again, undercooked food... complicated i know) and finally just decided not to eat the food which we were charged for anyway. and i appreciate a girls good looks as much as the next guy but fake tits in my face at dinner is not nearly enough to keep me coming back. it is actually the food and service i go out for so needless to say i have a low opinion of shark club in that area. the place is beautiful and modern and that's where the good points start as well as end. wish it had more positives, winnipeg could use a new restaurant that's actually worth having, instead we get another low end hooters.

mixed feelings. went here for my company christmas party. environment was great. i really enjoy the casino part. best wings in town. the servers have been great everytimei've gone. this time, the bartender working the south side of the bar was awful. he wouldn't let us pay with our credit card...even tho the machine was next to him. he hesitated to start a tab. while we were in the casino, we ordered drinks on our tab and another bartender came to us questioning our tab. considering we had left id, it shouldn't have been super difficult. he was rude and acted like we were an inconvenience.

i think this place has a lot going for it...great food, awesome environment. the drops in service are holding them back.

have been here twice - brutal service & bad food both times. i won't waste mytimeor money returning.
