urbanspoon over-hyped. we chose this restaurant (found via urbanspoon mobile app) because of it's overwhelmingly positive reviews. unfortunately, we didn't even get a chance to sample anything this brewhouse had to offer, save the terrible and disorganized customer service. upon entering, we found a cool-looking place with great atmosphere. surprisingly (for a saturday night) there were only a handful of groups waiting to be seated ahead of us. or so we thought. over 45 minutes later, after groups who entered after us were given proprietary seating (the multiple hostesses explained that they had no 2-top tables available for me and my date, but could somehow seat parties of 4 or more who checked in after we'd been waiting...) we were finally seated....at a table next to and with a view of the lobby we'd occupied for the previous hour. irritated, but still wanting to give this place a chance, we looked over the menu, especially the impressive beer list. and we kept looking them over.
for another 20 minutes.
eventually, our server approached our table and took our beer order. after another 15 minutes (with no contact from our server or delivery of beer or water) we got up and left. as we left, none of the 3 hostesses said anything to us (especially frustrating since our table was directly in their line of sight so they clearly saw our lack of eating, drinking, paying...of doing anything other than waiting!)
finally, a comment on their beer selection: while the list is impressive, there is absolutely no description of thebeersaside from their name and the brewhouse that makes it. i don't need a chart for level of hops, barley, or even alcohol content, but a simple description---light, dark, red, ale, lager---would be nice....something to give you an idea of what you'll be sampling.
