seven fish

sexy on a plate. we are on vacation in key west. four of us ate at seven fish tonight. the seafood was very fresh, reasonably priced, and melted in your mouth. it is a simple ambiance because it is located in a low key neighborhood. the dining room is very small but that adds to the feel of the place.

we had the goat cheese and red pepper salad. it was great. the fresh fish of the day is what you should get. i had the fresh tuna and tried some of the fresh mahi. the tuna was some of the best i have ever tasted. the mahi was equally good. for desert we had the bananas foster. it is very rich but great. highly recommend this place!!

we saved the best restaurant for last. we ate here the last night of our vacation. service was great. place is small. food was great. i had the gnocci and the lady had salad with crab cake. good food. like all the reviews for this restaurant say, it's a must.

the grouper with mango chutney was fantastic. my wife loved her shrimp and scallops great service with a friendly attitude. i will recommend it to my friends.

one of the best meals i've ever had. gnocchi with sauted fish cooked to perfection. great service and atmosphere. not to be missed.

very good. went here for dinner during our stay in the keys. i am vegan and they really did not have anything for me other than salad so i cheated a little and they made me a special dish of penne pasta with all their veggis and a mango chutney. it was very good. we also had the grouper sushi roll, the snapper with thai curry sauce, a salad and the penne pasta with chicken and the mango chutney. everything was fresh and tasted great. our waitress was very nice and went out of her way to help me find something i could eat on their menu!

amazing! amazing! amazing!. this place, might have, the best food i have ever put in my mouth! it was so good! my husband and i almost went back the next night, but waited too late. we had the snapper special, both sushi rolls, the cesar salad (best cesar salad i have ever had), and the crab pasta - i think it was called something else though. our mouths still water thinking about it. we can't wait to plan another vacation!!!!!

excellent! service was great. we had a reservation and arrived 7 minutes early to find our table ready. we shared the large roasted red pepper and goat cheese salad. it was really good and i found myself thinking i would have been perfectly happy with ordering just the salad and an app for myself. my wife had the crab and mushroom pasta and i had the shrimp scampi. both entrees were very good and very filling. i barely finished mine and my wife probably ate about half of hers. the only negatives i would say is that since it is a small place it is a little loud (especially when there is a large group in the restaurant) and the beer selection sucked (no craft beers).

first, the parking here like every where on key west is miserable. the ambiance was okay, but nothing special. i had the shrimp and fish over pasta dish. it was good, but again nothing special. we finished the dinner with a slice of key lime cheesecake. this was the highlight of the dinner.

fantastic! this is a fine restaurant with five star food. staff is fun and well tuned. we had the fresh fish and local scallops. perfect. to be honest, this is a true find in kw.

first dinner in key west! was highly rated and touted as an upscale seafood restaurant---does not disappoint. family tried a series of different dishes: thai snapper, crab and shiitake pasta, and scallops. all three were huge!!! and tasty. a little on the pricey side, but you really can't go wrong! bring your wallet and your appetite!! excellent food is worth the money.

seven fish is perhaps the least "key west like" of all the restaurants in key west. the new building, on truman ave, is sleek and modern and airy, and the total lack of acoustics leads to an incredibly loud dining experience, which i found to virtually ruin what might otherwise have been a nice evening out with old friends.
the food focuses on fresh seafood, however meat lovers also have a couple of menu options, including a steak and a meatloaf dish. the food is quite good, and is attractively plated.
service on the night of our visit could best be described as adequate. our waitress was friendly, when we saw her, but she confused several orders, possibly due to the fact we didn't want to shout our drink and meal orders out, and she didn't confirm what we ordered. a non-drinker was served alcohol, and when he complained she at first insisted it was alcohol free, which it was not. she promised to bring bread to the table, but then neglected to do so.
again, the food we received was tasty, attractive and well portioned, and that should have been enough to make for a perfectly enjoyable meal out. but it just wasn't. shouting comments for over an hour back and forth across the dinner table, being misunderstood, and having to keep repeating yourself over the din of the background noise wasn't much fun. and isn't that a big part of what dining out with friends is supposed to be about?
