went there for the first time and the food was horrible. ribs had little to no meat the baked beans looked like bbc sauce and had a burnt flavor to them. also had pulled pork sandwich that had a weird taste and the entire bun was sopping wet. twice baked potato was dry and the only good thing i can say was that the coleslaw was at least ed able. will never go back!!

yum ribs!. i hadn't been to scott's in a while just because it's out of the way. ted's is a lot closer to my house, but went to scott's last night for take out of course. got a rack of meaty, moist and flavorful ribs. i admit it, i'm a wimp and get the mild sauce. they were just as good as i remembered them being. i forgot how delicious the twice baked potato was, it was creamy, soft and melts in your mouth! the cole slaw is nice and tart too! i haven't seen a recent review of scott's so thought i'd add my 2 cents. it won't be quite as long until i go back. the staff is as friendly as ever too!

not anywhere close to actual barbeque.. i went here last night as i was hoping for some good barbeque in a city far from my native south. i've eaten barbeque in georgia, north carolina, kentucky, south carolina, and just about anywhere possible south of the mason-dixon line.

i was severly dissapointed with scott ja-mama's. i had the pulled pork sandwich with medium flavor sauce. the portion size was impressive however, i didn't even finish it as the flavor was awful. the meat tasted as though it had just been baked without any spices at all. no smokyness, no pepper, no anything. and the sauce was similar to covering the substandard meat with a can of tomato sauce. my companion had the ribs which had a decent flavor - same tasteless sauce - but were so tough my teeth could barely get the meat off the bone. i will really struggle to ever consider going here again.

the ‘ja-mamas’ comes from his mother’s barbecue recipes which he faithfully recreates day in and day out in the tiny kitchen in the back. while growing up people kept telling him, “scott, ja mama’s got the best barbecue!” at least, that’s the legend.
