italian my favorite!. i know scott,, the chef from the hamptoms and then in nyc. all his restaurants are amazing and the food extraordinary. however, the location of thisrestaurantis unique. being literally in the beach makes a huge dinner. the food is delicious with very moderate portions as it should be. the brunch, in my opinion is the best in miami! cant wait to come back

a finerestaurantof average ambience, the vegetarian variety was limited but delicious, especially the ravioli and mushroom rissotto, quite reasonable value.

inside the iconic fontainebleau hotel we find the no less famousrestaurantscarpetta, which under the direction of chef scott conant, has established itself as a baseline for italian cuisine in miami.


scarpetta offers renowned dishes from the regional italian cuisine and culinary creations that embody the simplicity and refinement of its gastronomy; as a matter of fact, scarpetta is recognized for its tomato sauce and basil spaghetti that led its creator to fame for its genuine italian taste.

the wine list is wide-ranging and diverse. the service is amicable and dedicated. open for dinners too, scarpetta is ideal for big groups and romantic dates.

therestaurantfeatures an unassuming, yet elegant décor and a classy ambience in which it is not uncommon to run into renowned celebrities from the showbiz.

we dined at scarpetta a couple of times during our stay in miami, and i liked the vibe of therestaurant(plus fontainebleu is my most favourite place to stay) more than the food. 

i was told that the tomato and basil spaghetti is out of the world - although its good, its definitely not worth the price. the other pasta options are quite good though.

our first day in miami, which also happens to be my girlfriends birthday! i was looking for something local but special and i think i found one! firstly, they have a dedicated vegetarian menu - so that was a winner to start with. upon arrival, i was impressed with the setting of the restaurant. you wouldn't normally rate a hotelrestaurantthat much but this delivered.
service - the wait staff were attentive and catered very well to our needs. i informed them that it was my gf's birthday and they delivered by wishing her a happy birthday on arrival and a candle on the dessert! nice touch!!
food - we had the lentils, yellowtail tartare for starters, risotto and the pork chop for mains and chocolate cake with nutella centre and gelato for dessert! the food tastes delicious and amazing!!!
overall, great service! great wine selection! great food!

we ate at scarpetta twice during our stay at fountainbleau. therestaurantis nice, the service very good. the food is excellent. everything we had was good.

service with a scowl. i wanted to enjoy scarpetta more than i did. i looked forward to eating there for quite a while. a friend recommended it on my last trip to south beach. i'll preface my review by saying that i was on the verge of a migraine when i visited, so perhaps it was a recipe for the following:

my appetizer was more on the scale of an 'amuse bouche', which was fine after i told myself that "i can afford this" and "it's fine dining after all'. the size and price aside, it was, of course, divine.

what upset my stomach (other than my pounding head) was the fact that the waiter felt the need to keep coming to my table to re-arrange my silverware - by this i mean he would place my knife on the correct side of my plate, etc. i'm normally a very laid-back, easy going guy, but this really seemed like a pompous gesture. i finally gave up and didn't finish my meal out of aggravation and general lack of appetite.

the food was, in all honestly, quite delicious. it was truly a gourmet meal. the presentation, the flavor combinations, etc were perfect. the service was pretentious and rude. i would consider going back and trying scarpetta again. with a clear head and a different waiter i'm sure thisrestaurantwould get 5 stars from me.
