what happened, sammy?. years ago, sammy's used to be my favorite place to eat. thefoodwas always great and the service was incredible. i guess hard times have had a severe effect on this place. nowadays, thefoodis average. i used to get the spaghetti with meatballs because the meatballs were gigantic and a lot of fun to eat. it made the dish different than any other restaurant's spaghetti. now, the meatballs are no different from any other place. and the pre-meal bread turns harder and crustier every time i go (but it is free, so i can't complain). but the biggest change for me is the wait staff. none of them ever smile anymore. if it wasn't for the nice, quiet atmosphere, i'm not sure i'd ever return here.
