the saddle creek area has become a hotspot for immigrant families from africa and asia. i am so happy that a thai restaurant has finally opened; there isn't another one for miles, downtown. i think this may be the first restaurant that will succeed in this space; the previous african restaurants just couldn't cut it. next door is a grocery store of the same name, but the restaurant is miles away from the bright white fluorescence of grocery store isles replete with warm earth tones, attractive decorations like the large bamboo feature in the front. it's miles away from the no frills atmosphere of its predecessors. we ordered tom kah gai, pad thai and number 27 (sorry, i forgot the name!) ordered very spicy. my guest lauded the pad thai, my dish, 27, ordered with a fried egg laid over rice next to spicy chicken and peppers. what made me even happier were the killer prices: at about $7.50 a dish, thisplaceis steal and should not be passed up! i am already planning my next 3 or 4 visits for just this week!
