had dinner 26/12/17, great service, our waitress phumzile went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience. food was amazing had the korean fried chicken bao absolutely delicious , possibly a bit dry. i also had prawn dumplings in phó broth - absolutely delicious. for a main i had the red thai curry served in a pineapple 😍😍 loved it.

the portions are small and the meals are pricey compared to similar establishments.

also had the vietnamese ice coffee with condensed milk- no disappointments!

amazing restaurant... lovely decor and excellent service... we decided try this new place as the menu looked quite interesting. for starters, we had the agedashi tofu - great flavour on the sauce. we also had the sweetcorn tempura balls ... lovely crunch on the outside but the inside was a little raw in one of our balls. we also had the pumpkin tempura bao which was really good. for mains we shared a wok n roll. loved the flavours. our cocktails were really good as well- had the nagasaki negroni and the ginger ninja mojito. must go back soon!!
love the idea of having a karaoke party there... only problem is they don’t take bookings for the karaoke and you have to try your luck with a big group...not ideal.

not just a place to get some food.
saigon suzy is quite the experience and going there on a busy weekend can sometimes be challenging due to their no bookings policy, however, it's well worth the wait.
the menu is very thoughtfully compiled with loads of delicious asian options depending on what you're feeling for.
food:
ramen noodles were great but sushi and prawn toast starters were quite average.
ambience:
this is the seller of the restaurant!
casual/street side asian vibes. very relaxed and always bustling and loud. the decor is done impeccably and is something to enjoy while waiting on your meal.
service and staff:
great and efficient. food served as it's ready hot out the kitchen.
major bonus is the karaoke rooms that they hire out per hour. this is great fun and comes highly recommended.
only downside are the prices. definitely not budget friendly and overpriced for what you get.

decor is amazing and restaurant has a very trendy vibe. waiter was on the ball and gave us amazing service. portions are small and the price tags are huge. for mains i had the wok and roll which was delicious and my husband had the ramen which we didn’t enjoy at all. for dessert i had the mango and coconut sorbet which was again delicious and my husband had the tirami-suzy which was also amazing but the serving size was super tiny at a premium price. restaurant was super noisy and sitting at a table of 8 people you could only really talk to the person next to and across from you. for 2 people for a 2 course meal and 3 colddrinks our bill came to r700 (this incl tip) which in my opinion is a bit ridiculous. sadly we didn’t try out the karaoke as it was r800 for an hour.

really cool venue and vibe. their cocktails are excellent, food is pleasing but not great and also quite pricey. been here a few times and service has been ok but this could be because they’re new and very busy. i’d recommend this place for drinks.

we had a few tapas here and some drinks. tapas were good but i found the salad we order particularly impressive, it was great value for money for a very interesting salad. the cocktails were good. the interior was very nice. i loved the murals, absolutely beautiful. service was good as well. not too sure if i like the menu idea. writing your name on the menu forces it to have a once only usage which isn't the best thing for the environment.

dont waist ur time or money. very disappointed in the food the size of the food for the price u paying is ridiculous.
not authentic .
food size 1/10
service was 5/10 waiter didnt think our table of was important enough as his other tables.
i ordered the built ur bowl and ticked the shrimp which were r80 just 4 the shrimp expecting an average size of a shrimp.. espessialy for 80 bux.. it came smaller than the pee shoot i ordered in the bowl was actually unacceptable if i didn't have my kid with me due to time restraint i would have sent ut back ! calamari like 4 pieces 2 x tiny bao cut in half 2 tiny dumplings !tiny
the vibe incredible thats where my 2 comes in decor magnificent but u guys have big competition out there down the road .. i won't be back to eat thats 4 sure!

great food! loved the karaoke pods upstairs. we tried the wok fried calamari- seasoned with pink peppercorns, chilli, lime, mint and coriander. our favorite dish. we also tasted the peanut and cheese springrolls smoked with plum sauce. just 2 spring rolls. we also tasted the bbq pork belly which comes in mini buns tasty. (2 bun) asian bbq sauce, cucumber and peanuts
for a main i tried the thai red curry with beef short rib, pineapple, cherry tomatoes, baby corn, basil, mange tout and sticky rice. served in a pineapple. this portion for the price was ridiculously a small portion.
for drinks we tried their ginger ninja mojito - bacardi oakhart rum, ginger beer, coconut shavings, coriander, mint and lime. it was different and tasty. although there was tooooooo much ice and too little cocktail. the mint was wilted. my rating mostly due to the all the portion sizes being so small in relationship to the price. (stingy suzy) the idea and interior was beautiful and colourful,

great - decor, cocktails, location, vibe, service, bathrooms etc ❤️
not great - pork belly ramen noodles. the broth tasted like beef stock, which isn't authentic. i'm also pretty sure the ramen noodles was actually spaghetti 😬 i felt that the brownie dessert was quite small considering it cost r70.

saigon suzy!! sai-stay suzy! the wok n roll came quickly and was delicious. mix and match to your taste. wait staff are friendly, able to recommend dishes, and are polite. the large table we had seemed to overwhelm our waiter but he recovered well. thanks for a great experience, good luck. looking forward to the cherry blossom garden experience next time👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

i went to this place twice in one week. firstly for a birthday dinner and with some work mates to grab dinner after friday.

i quite like the decor and the atmosphere (quite energetic) . the place does get a little full so if you want a good spot you need to get there early.

the food is delicious, i had ramen noodles for the first time and they were pretty great. definitely would recommend that, the bbq broken rice, some kfc bao and the waterkloof ridge red wine. the place is a bit on the pricey side so just brace yourself

the reviews on social media have been varied, however i had a very positive experience at saigon suzy. they have after all only been operating for 2 weeks.

the restaurant was pumping, however our waitress, who might i say had a dynamite kick ass personality, was always around to take our orders, and she got our orders to us quickly at all times.

the decor is chic, the menu inventive and all the dishes we tried were very tasty. we had the edame beans, pumpkin bao (have this!), pork belly bao, soft shell crab tempura and bbq chicken rice dish. all utterly delicious and our friends also enjoyed their food.

but....... i find the restaurant pricey for the portions we got. unfortunately.

great decor, and great buzz, but the food is very mediocre. these days it is quite easy (and expected) to offer fairly authentic asian food, especially at these prices. the ramen dishes don’t contain actual ramen noodles. the sashimi was average. service was slow, but friendly.
it’s worth a visit for the atmosphere, but not the food, but they are new, and they may sort that out.
