trendy deco, wonderful ambience and excellent service. we really enjoyedsaigonsuzy, even the kids. we tried prawn crackers, chicken and prawn dumplings, prawn toast, wok fried calamari wok and roll and ramen bowls. desserts were excellent as well. i think the prices are high and the portions are not all that big. brilliant dining experience though and definitely one of the better asian fusion restuarants that i have been to.

i have been wanting to visitsaigonsuzy for a while due to all the hype around it and finally had a chance last night. it's a great, vibey venue to start your evening at. i had very high expectations and to be honest was let down slightly by the food. it was all good and unique, however nothing to rave about. the cocktail menu looks great! our waitress as well as the service in general was exceptional.

went tosaigonsuzy last night for dinner and absolutely loved it. they don’t take reservations so we arrived at 6pm and were seated very quickly. we did have a small party of only three, if there are more of you, you will have to arrive very early to get a spot. for instance we saw a man arrive at 6pm and his friends only joined after 7 but he came early to make sure they got a table.

we ordered prawn toast, prawn crackers and the cheese and peanut spring rolls for starters and they were absolutely delicious! the prawn toast was phenomenal and starters arrived very fast.

for mains we all built our own wok and everyone loved it. the menu really caters for all taste and the waiters were very clued up on what sauces suit what proteins etc.

we didn’t have dessert as the options weren’t that extensive.

the food was delicious, it arrived quickly and the service was great. will definitely be back!

had the broken rice with pork belly (take-away) today. this dish is asaigonsuzy staple for me but really disappointed with pork used today- tasted more like bbq kassler (and salty to boot!) than slow roasted pork belly which changed the flavor profile of the dish completely. didn't like this change at all and sincerely hope tis was a one off

we had enteredsaigonsuzy on a sunny sunday afternoon and i must say it is such a beautiful restaurant, the cute asian detail with the multiple umbrella decor. i had the pandan’s envy cocktail and it was too sweet with alot of coconut syrup in it. i honestly didn’t enjoy it. the pork belly ramen was quite delicious with interesting garnishing which makes the dish different. the service was a bit slow even though the restaurant wasn’t full at all. but the ambience made it worth it nonetheless

cape town’s mid-price restaurants could learn a lot from places likesaigonsuzy! one of my favourite dining experiences was sitting on their roof for dinner. the open air surrounded by oldish building was a great setting for a relaxed asian meal. the food was all very good and excellent value. the service was also good, readily available with good recommendations. ifsaigonsuzy was in cape town, it would be my local.

the first thing you notice when you walk intosaigonsuzy is the quirky and fun decor. the ceiling is covered in upside down painted paper umbrellas, there are neon lights pointing the way to the karaoke rooms and there's a rather large painting of a suzy on the side of the room.

we usually order little plates of food when we're there - i am vegetarian and there are quite a few dishes for me to choose from which is always a plus :) the food is yum and the vibe is always good.

they also have a large selection of alcoholic beverages including some imported thai beers.

the only downside is that they do not take bookings, so it's luck of the draw for seating.

the waitrons are super friendly and always ready with suggestions. if you're looking for a relaxed lunch or vibey supper, this is your place to be!

finally got to go tosaigonsuzy and i was not disappointed! the food is exceptional, staff friendly and the vibe fantastic! the decor is reminiscent of a bygone era and is absolutely beautiful. i had a wonderful time there, as did all of my mates. we ended the evening with karaoke, which was so fun! will definitely go back to explore more of their delicious dishes!

for the longest time i have eyedsaigonsuzy and all of my quirky, high, asian cuisine expectations were met!

the decor is eclectic, clean, well thought out and plain gorgeous. especially the murals and the ceiling.

service was quick and the waitress was extremely helpful with recommendations.

food was amazing! our entire party enjoyed the wok n roll bowls and every combination was huge and every bit so damn tasty.

will definitely be back and recommend it to all lovers of quirky and the asian food scene.

its a 2.5 really. closer to fine than poor, but i wouldn't reccomend it to anyone.
for example i would never say "you should go tosaigonsuzy for food, the food is original, good, and well crafted", instead i would say "be very selective about what you order, don't have the ramen, don't have the katsi curry, the bao are almost passable, maybe stick to the starter menu."
we didn't have a wok or whatever they call it here, so maybe thats a safe option. the softshell crab is pretty novel, nice too.

i dono. i was not impressed. its pricey and mediocre. maybe its more of a hip to be seen place for the youth, i'm not a youth, i'm not hip with the times.

the beer is mental expensive too.

meh.
i hear they have a menu consultant in so maybe its gotten better

i absolutely loved the experience we had atsaigonsuzy. the staff is great, food is awesome and especially the vibe has been something to experience. you get a real feel of being overseas with the interior of all the umbrellas and great wall art. the drink also was great with some traditional drink from sa as well as local overseas drink like sake from japan and traditional beers from thailand. really enjoyed the overall experience.

as a bit of a foodie i always enjoy trying new places and experiences, so for my birthday this year i settled onsaigonsuzy. after contacting them i was notified that they do not take reservations - as it was a special occasion and a large guaranteed amount of guests i asked if they don't make exceptions. unfortunately they were unable to but i was given some great advise from the hostess - she said that if we arrive early from 17h30 we would be able to secure a table for 19h00. excellent...or so i thought.

so, i sent my brother and his friend at 17h00 to secure a table of 12. with numerous phone calls from him over the next hour it was clear that they were not giving him the table size that was requested. im not sure why they chose not to listen to his request or felt that he wasn't a serious client but subsequently  i decided to head to the restaurant early to ensure that this problem get sorted out. on arrival i notified the waiter that the table of 8 we had been given would not suffice as we requested a table of 12 an hour ago. i asked if we could be moved to one of the other larger open tables that would accommodate my group - management refused as these tables were "taken". strange for a place that doesn't take reservations.  as we were left to our own devices we began taking matters into our own hands and started joining a table nearby to ours to increase the numbers.

subsequently this got the attention of the manager who snapped at us and told us that he can not accommodate this size table and walked off- as my guests began arriving we placed them at the table of 8, sitting on everything from pouffes to chairs we could salvage.

with some luck a new manager came on shift and attempted to rectify the situation by reserving the table next to us which was joined onto our current party 30 mins later when the guests had vacated it.

food overall was good - not exceptional like momo soku but good. cocktails were impressive but alcohol was excessively expensive ie an imported asian beer retails for r80.00.

ambiance and decor was lovely and the waiters tried hard to please - pity their policies and some of the management have such a bad attitude.
