loved it! such a fun and delicious experience. food was great, i'd go back everyday if i could. i didn't find the food salty at all and the rice was obviously plain so you could mix your meat or seafood in to create a custom dish. :)

another vietnamese restaurant on my quest to find the best pho in the hamilton/burlington area. this one was a keeper. the restaurant was clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. the staff was friendly and efficient. the pho was was full of rare beef, the vegetables were fresh, but the broth did seem a little light, but it was excellent overall. this will be one of my favourites.

i've only been here twice but the service was pretty good both times, there's a good amount of seating, and the food was pretty good. i got pho when i went and it wasn't the greatest but it wasn't that bad either, wouldn't recommend it for pho considering there are a lot better places that focus on pho more. on the other hand their other food is pretty good. my friend got the pad thai which was a huge serving for a relatively cheap price and it was delicious!

best pho & pad thai in hamilton! went 3 times in one week with friends and family. ben did a fantastic job taking care of our party and would recommend saigon house to any fellow pho/thai-addicts!

not only is the food great, the waitress was super kind! my partner and i loved all the meats we grilled. on our way out my partner forgot his cellphone and the waitress who served our table ran all the way down john street in the cold just to give it back. i'm really happy about this place.

the traditional way of eating korean dinners is family style where there's bit of everything for you to try. if you don't like that, don't bother.

i love korean bbq but this place is terrible. first off, no koreans go to this place since it's not really authentic (we don't ever grill pineapple; though its okay) and no one korean owns there or cooks there (last time i asked, one of the wait staff was korean and that was it) and the only redeeming menu item is the korean braised short rib called galbi.

if you want real korean food, try somewhere else.

too much smoke in the restaurant. i can't imagine what it would be like with more than 2 tables working. no overhead exhaust at all. they pour water to try and displace the smoke.

if you can't do all you can eat for $20. then don't go because they do not offer even appetizers separate from the all you can eat menu. was not impressed. since i am someone who would eat about $5.00 worth it's a shame i couldn't eat with my family.

what a great way to spend a sunday. my friend and i visited u shao on sunday afternoon for lunch. we didn't want to make the trek to toronto and was excited when i discovered u shao online. your first impression when you walk into the restaurant is "wow". it is very clean and well designed. modern concept with private booths. service was prompt and food was great.

i would highly recommend the restaurant. we both ate the lunch buffet with soft drinks and the bill was $40.

i am definitely going back, but this time with a larger group.

poor service great food. i had a good time my friend who is korean was talking and laughing with the staff constantly yet they still made me feel part of the fun. the service is a bit slow but the food was so good i did not mind waiting for a bit. a reluctant "likes it" wish t there was a "good...but" option to review i would go in big groups for a good exoerience.

poor service but great food. u shao came recommended in a hamilton tourism guide and we happend to drive past it so decided to stop in and grab some lunch. this was my first korean bbq experience and found that it was difficult to keep straight which utensils to use when. for example, i had to remember to use the metal tongs only on the raw meats and use the chopsticks to grab the cooked meat to avoid contamination which at times was difficult. some of the raw ingredients you choose for the bbq come pre-seasoned such as the beef strips, beef shortrib, sausage, fish filet (basa), and the chicken. items like calamari, and the vegetables do not come pre-seasoned. i was not a particular fan of either the sliced sausage due to the sweetness of the seasoning. the fish and the calamari were not particularly standout thus were passable. the chicken was quite delicious but took a while to cook thoroughly due to the thickness of the meat. the beef shortrib was quite flavorful but we had accidently overcooked ours and became jerky-esque. beef strips were excellent and cooked quite quickly due to their thin size. the rich flavors of the beef paired well with rice and was definitely the highlight of our meal.

service was very poor and slow. it took nearly 15 minutes between refills on my drink and a few times when we flagged our server down he said 'one moment' then took another 15 minutes to show up at our table.

despite the abysmal service, the food itself weas delicious and the overall experience was quite enjoyable. i would recommend this restaurant to others.

make sure you cook that chicken.. i just had lunch with two friends at u shao bbq and we loved it. the food, atmosphere, server, the fact that you cook your own food.. everything was great. at first this place looks like your typical fancy all you can eat asian restaurant... except u shao bbq is so much more. as you eat your partially uncooked chicken breast you begin to notice the ambient music trickle into your ears.. like, "oh, was that just a jazz lady gaga cover i heard? and now fat joe, ja rule and ashanti.. oh god i forgot about ashanti, what a treat!" as you take the chewy pink chicken out of your mouth and realize the mistake you've made by taking it off the grill too soon, you tend to forget about the dangers of salmonella poisoning and think ya ja, what does luv have to do with it? i will be personally recommending this place to all of my friends, it's a fun time for all.

if you’ve never had kbbq before and live in hamilton i’d say it’s worth the while. go in a group of 4 – 8 to get the best social experience out of it. also be sure that you’ve got friends that have run this gauntlet before as rookies will be lost with all the choices along with what foods cook quickly/slowly. food poison is not your friend. for myself, i don’t know if i’d go out of my way to hit this up a second time. considering 1/2 of my staple food was a write off, i’d much rather take the time in travel and blow the extra money at to hit the gta for a better kbbq experience.
