quick fix for craving. as a malaysian living in brisbane, i have been to a couple of "malaysian" restaurants which claimed to offer "authentic" malaysian food but always end up to be a disappointment - nothing near malaysian food at all.
but this restaurant seems to has more to offer, so i decided to try their seafood laksa. although couldn't compare to the "real stuff" in malaysia, the laksa has achieved a balance level of spice and coconut taste. i have almost thought that i am eating at some kopitiam (coffee shop) in malaysia (which of course, not the best in offering laksa). but this would probably be the closest i can get in brissy.
bf ordered roti and beef rendang. this is not the usual dry rendang you know in malaysia / singapore. the gravy is very thick and creamy and to my dismay, they have only included one piece of roti for such big bowl of over-creamy gravy and many pieces of rendang. the gravy was too sweet to my liking and lacking the spice in the supposedly spicy rendang. i would avoid this dish and opt for seafood laksa.
