rooster's uptown

brilliant...as usual. roosters never lets me down. and as sure as the south park location is stellar, the uptown location does not disappoint. in charlotte, we are lucky to have a restaurant like this. the open kitchen, the wood fire grill, and the great cheese selection make thisplacespecial. start with the cheese plate, then have the duck confit, and accompany it with mac and cheese or the fire roasted beets.

've been very impressed in my two visits to rooster's. as a meat lover, anyplacethat specializes in smoking their own meat and does it well it going to rate highly in my book, but rooster's shines all around.
i've had their wings, roasted chicken, and bbq meatloaf as well as different sides. their wings and chicken were both really flavorful and perfectly juicy (as i'm sure just about all their meats are), but if you take one thing away from this review - get the bbq meatloaf! it had a great blend of spices, was cooked perfectly, and rooster's bbq sauce is incredible. it's sweet, spicy, and smoky without having any one of those elements be too strong. i got some on the side with my chicken this past visit, and it made the meal that much better.
the staff has also been very friendly, and the open-kitchen concept where you can see the chefs working is pretty interesting.

it's a niceplaceto go after a day's work, as the ambiance permits you to talk for a while and relax.... food is undoubtedly good and tasty.....

tasteless chicken. i ordered the wood fired chicken, what a mistake that was! in fact, the real mistake was going to this restaurant at all. the chicken is tasteless, no seasonings at all, the pomme purée (mashed potatoes) was in a cold clump in a ramekin. my daughter's confit duck was far from good and her scalloped potatoes were a travesty! i cannot believe the amount of positive responses on here, must be "friends & family" of the owner. the girl poured my wine at the table but didn't offer me the first taste to ensure that i liked it! i have eaten at restaurants all over europe and the uk but this will be memorable for being one of the worst meals i've had the displeasure of paying for! never again! thisplacegets zero stars from this diner.

thisplaceis the thriller! even non stop michael jackson/bad 70's music could not make thisplacebad, its bad, you know it. after such a delicious meal i did a moonwalk out of here.

when i moved to charlotte, i heard a lot of good things about rooster’s. but it sounded like one of those places that was too fancy for me (maybe not fancy in ambiance, but fancy in price range). i work uptown, but close to the courthouse, which provides limited dining out lunch options within a one block radius ( cluck n cup , which is good for sandwiches, showmars , which i stay away from, and the federal reserve cafeteria, which has been a go toplacefor many of my coworkers, but can be the same old thing after a while). occasionally, i am in the food for a nice, leisurely lunch; to get out of the office and stroll uptown among the corporate types and have a nice sit down meal. a few weeks ago, i decided to look up the lunch menu at rooster’s (i keep hearing good things! and more so out of curiousity) and realized, to my delight, that it is totally, completely affordable for a work day lunch (not something i could treat myself to every day, but something i could eat and not feel gu
