good. husband loves this place. i think it's ok. personally i think it's over priced for the quality burgers they have. hadgoodservice though. be aware there is very limited parking we usually have to park at pay to park lot. ... major turn off to me.

above average burger, below average service. the food here is really good, incredibly creative without being weird. i like the burger competition thing they do so there are frequently new burgers to try. the parking at this place is awful -goodluck finding a spot anywhere nearby. every time we have gone we usually end up waiting a long time for a server who in turn is slow and not the most helpful. it is really nice to sit outside though and enjoy a unique and juicy burger.

finally got to try rodeo goat. it was asgoodas advertised. the only reason that i gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because my burger patty was cooked well done. i am pretty picky about stuff like that. i will be willing to give the star back on a future visit if the patty comes out medium. great service and quick too.goodbeer selections. they have some of the most creative and unique burger combos i have seen and i just love that. unfortunately, i could only try one for now:

sugar burger- candied bacon, grilled peaches, caramelized onions, arugula and jalapeno jam. it was one of the best burgers i have ever had. it's a shame the patty was too well done because this burger had a chance to be the best ever. the candied bacon and peaches gave a nice sweetness and tamed the heat of the jalapeno jam. highly recommended.

hand punched fries- their fries are ridiculously good. i can't confirm because i didn't ask, but with my knowledge i believe not only are their fries hand-cut, but i believe they're double fried as well. very crispy and great flavor.

in closing, i can't wait to get back and try some more of their burgers and maybe a different style fry also. very impressive place and i highly recommend if you like burgers or are feeling a great one you stop by.

outstanding across the board - fantastic burgers. rodeo goat vaults into my top 10 burgers. i love the atmosphere. it's split into two halves. one side has bar-height tables. the other has tables and booths. the two sides are separated by a cinder block wall and iron fence. it looks just like a rodeo wall. the goat bucking behind the bar is a nice touch. we were a party of 20 and our server knocked it out of the park. she was incredible. her knowledge of the menu was extensive. we all ended up really happy with our choices as she walked us through the food.

i tried several burgers from each person, but i ordered the chaca oaxaca. wow that was good. the beef is mixed with chorizo. because it has pork in it, they won't serve it pink in the middle. i appreciated that comment when i asked for pink. the meat was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. the avocado on one side and fried egg on the other complemented the spice of the chorizo. the bun was reallygoodand held together through the last bite. what a great burger. for dessert we tried goat balls. you have to try something with that name. turns out they are donut holes filled with brie. the outside is dusted with powered sugar and covered with a berry compote. really good.

rodeo goat is all that and more. it deserves a huge thumbs up and makes it's way into my favorite list.

back again. brought two friends here for the first time. this was my third time. we walked away very pleased. my friends had the caca oaxaca and the salted sow with homemade chips and fries, while i had the chupacabra burger which is currently running in the battle of the burgers. it is a combination of beef and chorizo, with roasted hatch chilies, fried jalapenos, avocado, queso asadero with smoked lime aioli. other than a little heat from the jalapenos, the burger was surprisingly mild. it did have a nice flavor with everything blending nicely. the avocado held everything together. it is running against the rhuberry burger, which has the burger topped with rhubarb marmalade, arugula, strawberry goat cheese and pie crisp. lots of people enjoying the food with us out on the patio in the back. kids are playing ring toss. lol! luv this place!

happy birthday to ewe. somebody was going to say it eventually, so it might as well be me. happy birthday rodeo goat! you are one year old today. how i managed to stay away from you for an entire year surprised me. finding out burgers were half-price today was a temptation i couldn't pass up. to be honest, i didn't think this was going to be a place that i was going to go for. all of these fancy-smancy ingredients, most of which do not belong in a kitchen, let alone on a burger. if you know me, you know my stance on a fried egg on a burger. thumbs down. peanut butter?? i wouldn't think so. how about a burger which actually has al the ingredients for a tamale?? now that's intriguing! so i took a chance.

oh my gosh! this was incredible. la vaquera is in the burger battle this month so it may or may not be a permanent fixture. hopefully it wins. it has all of the elements of a delicious tamale plus the added benefit of a burger patty. braised brisket, oaxacan white melted, oozing cheese with grilled jalapenos wrapped in yellow masa on a fresh-baked bun. the bun is smeared with mole mustard. i love the flavor of masa and the cumin-infused brisket . the masa doubled the carb count with the bun, but it didn't hurt it. and to top it off, the burger itself was served wrapped in the tamale corn husks. how clever is that! when i ordered it i thought i was going to have to eat it with a knife and fork. far from it. it was a really nice burger that held everything together without any mess.

the fries were soggy though. this was the only downside of this meal. perhaps i should try the goat chips next time. i felt sorry for my server who just happened to be the bartender too. i was here early and was one of the first in at 11:00. in no time at all the place was full with happy customers. i was one of about 16 of her very own patrons and she battled valiantly between getting drink orders, lunch orders, refilling drinks and bringing checks. i wasn't in a hurry but it did take about 10 minutes to get the check. no fault of hers. she was just bouncing around like a pinball.

parking is limited in front of rodeo goat, but there is street as well as garage parking in the general vicinity. the interior is very rustic, bar atmosphere type, so on this windy, forty degree day, i did not feel out of place in jeans, flannel shirt and combat boots. i don't know if it is always this busy, but busy or not i want to come back here again and again to check out the other burgers to see what i've been missing. hope to see you there as well!

(edit-february 7, 2014)- i'm back again. i needed to return to try out another burger--this time the "hot bastard." the description is "red chile spice, lettuce, tomato, marinated peppers, onion, habanero cheddar with roasted fresno aoili." wow! that's a mouthful. it was a verygoodburger too. i like la vacquera better though. the bastard, excuse me, that's the name, was a very moist burger with all of the vegetables and aioli sauce. the buttery bun enhanced the flavors. it was a 6 on a heatness scale from 1-10. i really didn't notice any major heat until my last bite and it was just a low, slow burn in my mouth. the real surprise were the goat chips. i'm not a big potato chip fan, but i thought i need to try a different side this time. these were much better than the fries i had the last time here. the chips were non-greasy and were presented in a little bag. it was a large portion too. i will probably select these over the fries next time, or perhaps i will get an appetizer as a side since i haven't tried any of them yet. service was excellent, maybe because i was sitting at the bar. my tea was re-filled three times during my lunch--a new record! the wait on my burger was probably 6-8 minutes. i can't get over this place. i will be back later so i can try some more of this expanding menu!

everything was great but for the awful goat balls. we have been told by over a dozen people to come here so we did.
great setting and we enjoyed our visit.
my wife loved her turkey veggie burger especially the sprouts.
i had the caca oaxaca and it was good.
fries were good, not the best we have had.
the goat balls for dessert tasted awful with the cheese.
other than that it was a fun visit andgoodfood.

(we had the fries and chips and queso). i like how its tucked just behind the hustle and bustle of 7th street. i can't wait to go again.

reallygoodburgers. i still prefer fred's, kincaids, twisted root, and a couple of others, but if you want great burgers and a wide selection of beers, this is your place. the burgers are generally cooked a bit too well, and sometimes the flavorful toppings mask the meat.

the telluride is a favorite, especially when hatch chiles are in season. i dig the sugar burger with the peaches and arugula, the cowboy murran, and the blue goat with blue cheese slaw as well. the only real disappointment was a la vaquera which had a horrible masa cake which was so heavily laced with pure chile that it overpowered everything else on the burger, which included a huge grilled jalapeño and brisket. a dining partner spit it out it was so bad.

great sides, perfect onion rings, excellent fries and queso. the fried pies rock.

big hit or big miss. inconsistent, servers are either really nice and on top of things, or you feel like they do not want to be there (and this happens at peak or slow hours.) food wise, i've had great cheese fries and i've had burnt cheese fries. burgers are different, in agoodway, but the goat cheese can and usually does take over the burger's flavor (as the star telegram reported.) more consistency in food/service and this is one of, if not the best place to eat in fort worth!

suprising lack of flavor. went after they won the dfw burger war. the combination of ingredients sound awesome but the flavor wasn't right.

i got the caca oaxaca burger - it's a mix of ground beef and chorizo but all i could taste was the chorizo and the fried egg on top - tasted like i was eating a breakfast sandwich. the patty was small and the overcooked fries (you know ... the brown kind) aren't my style.

hubby got the cowboy murrin - it's got bacon, jalapeno, cheddar, bbq sauce. it was just okay, and again the patty was small. service wasgoodeven though they were busy. i think they won the burger war due to hipster influence :)

great variety. so many burgers to choose from! i had the whiskey burger. my meat patty was a little small in comparison to the bun. but the flavor was great. loved the fries with ranch! the fried chocolate pie was not very good. tasted like the pudding came from a can.goodplace to take the whole family.

terlingua burger. second time, both excellent: the beef was perfect, tender, tasty; obviously fresh-ground and shaped carefully (not too densely compacted, tender all around). fritos strategically layered to retain some crunch, perfect contrast with the cheese. excellent burger creation.

burger patty tasteless. my boyfriend and i met a group there - it's one of those incredibly loud places that want you in and out fast so they can fill the table again. i had the sugar burger, which had some pretty positive reviews here, and to me it really was too sweet. they could balance the flavor with a savory/sour sauce. so i took it apart: the grilled peach was nice, the bacon was thick and very tasty, the burger patty was dry and nearly flavorless. the bun was fresh, but beyond that, nothing special - no yeasty or buttery taste. all things considered, mr. frosty in denton has waaaay better burgers at about a third the price! the onlygoodtaste at rodeo goat is the ambience.
