if rockefellers raw bar in north myrtle beach, s.c. were a pet you would take it out and shoot it in the head and, you wouldn’t even need to dig a hole to bury it. just scrape the mud, dirt, and filth out of the dime size oysters they just served us for dinner and you should have enough to bury it and the city block it sits on, although the environmental protection agency might have some objections. it wasn’t just bad folks, it was insultingly and disgustingly bad. i am not exaggerating about the size either. i halfway expected someone to walk out with a tv camera and tell us we had just been punked. ok, so there were a few oysters the size of a nickel and maybe two would reach the size of a quarter, but the most frightening part of the tray of steamed filth looked like it had been prepared in the kitchen of the walking dead. most of the tiny oysteretts featured a slimy, sandy, black filth that covered most them and much of the shells as well. however, for us, the really sad news is just this. my wife and i have been coming to rockefellers for the last 25 years now and until today it has been our favorite seafood restuarant on the beach. i don’t know what happened. maybe they are under new mis-management or have a new owner who is a secret operative for the taliban. one thing is for sure. they have lost our business forgoodand i’m sure they couldn’t care less about that. i know they couldn’t care less because they could not have cared less about the filth they just served us for dinner. i am posting this review not just to voice my opinion, but also in the event of food poisoning or worse, we will have made our experience in deadly dining a matter of public record. by the way. for those who might ask why we bothered to eat the dirty dozen, we didn’t. only the ones on top which covered the dirty ones beneath. i guess that is the rockefellers dirty trick of the day. so long rockefellers. you have brought shame to the name.

really verygoodfood...non smoking>>>yeah baby !!. i think this place and biminis are perhaps the best values on the beach...yes...the service can be apathetic at best...however..if you go at lunch..sit at the bar...usually quite attentive.

the owners are not the most convivial...and i have been shocked at their response to customers complaints...totally unprofessional with the proverbial chip on shoulder...however...i have never been a recipient and have found them to be more that charming to me.

the food really is quite good...and i think a terrific value...most appears to be house made and not fresh off the sysco truck.

overall...a great value...nice staff from my experience..great food (not gourmet)..decent beer on tap (however...why don't any of the mb area bars serve local or regional micro brews ???)

try it !!

good food, owners son and staff need to be replaced. went there over the weekend with somegoodfriends and expected a great time. we ordered a couple of appetizers as well as 4 entrees. the one entreee came out with the apps., a mistake that could have been overlooked and easily addressed. then one more entree came out, still waiting on 2 more. after a while the others food was getting cold and because the people dining had class no one was eating till all the food was on the table. at this point one person in our party went to speak with the server, this guy has class so it was not a bitch session, after he explained the situation the white trash waitress said "if you don't like my service, you dont have to eat here" at which point our friend spoke to the owner. in the interim, i went to observe the kitchen on the re-cook (for those of you who have worked in an establishment or saw the movie waiting) to make sure our food was not tampered with. upone my observation the white trash waitress was m*&^%^f'ing my friend and asking who he thought he was. at that point i opened the door and explained that "he" is your customer and we are not here for you, you are here for us. then the owners son "too tall" came out and argued that she could have been talking about anyone and just insulted me by doing so. his aggressive demeanor followed by his 5th grade education told me you cant win an argument with an idiot. the owner said he would comp our bill, but was apathetic in doing so. great business skills, did you go to wharton? at any rate it may have been a long hot summer as the excuse was portrayed in the air conditioned space??? i just hope they can keep the lights on another year.

verygoodfood. great local food place! not fancy, doesn't have large crabs on the roof, no clowns dancing by the road, just great food. my wife and i both hadthe grouper sandwich which was as long as my forearm, and it was very good. the kids had chicken tenders and fries, an both had "happy plates". would definintely go back our next trip to myrtle.

rocks is the best kept secret in all of north myrtle beach!. rocks is the bomb! their lobster & seafood kettles are to die for! the crab dip, she crab soup, & blackened grouper, aregoodtoo. it has a dark divey-bar kind of feel, but seth & the staff always take care of us. i think that the dark dive- bar thing with the tall white dude rooting for dallas just adds to this place's character. so sit back in your white captains chair at their bar & have a cold one.
