i had the shrimp and grits as well as the pancakes with pecan butter and it was fabulous! the service was great. came in for brunch and although it was busy but not crazy crowded so we were able to get seated immediately. i would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. i look forward to trying it out for dinner too.

a couple of  weekends ago my boyfriend visited rockcreek in fremont. rockcreek focuses on serving the freshest caught seafood from around the country. rockcreek was also one of eater.com top newcomers of 2013. therefore, i must check this place out. first, when you visit rockcreek, note that is shares a building with another restaurant. if you are not paying attention (like we were not), you might just walk into a hamburger joint. once you walk out of the hamburger joint, walk down the stairs, turn to your left, and walk just a few steps up the street to rockcreek. we did not have a reservation, and the restaurant was already full. however, there were 2 seats in the bar, but not to next to each other. the staff was very friendly in getting us the one seat, so we can get a drink and stalk the bar patrons to get the next free seat that became available. we were not there for 5 minutes, when the bartender freed us up a seat by asking a couple people to move down. very courteous, and off t

great experience. i had made a reservation for 8 pm to have dinner with my boyfriend and parents. the restaurant was pretty slammed and we ended up having to wait for our table for around 30 minutes. there was a big long bench just past the hostess stand and they encouraged us to grab drinks at the bar or bring them back to the bench while we waited. the time seemed to fly by as we chatted over fantastic martinis and wine. the hostesses were so nice and extremely apologetic. we were sat upstairs, where our waitress promptly thanked us for waiting and let us pick a starter on the restaurant. then the owner came over and thanked us for waiting...then the guy who brought our appetizer thanked us for waiting. amazing service and such nice staff. regardless of the wait, which honestly was not an issue for us, we felt so welcome and accommodated for. we had a delicious dinner of shared plates and entrees. every dish was incredible. i will most definitely be returning!

not what i expected. after reading all the stellar reviews of rockcreek online, i was eager to check it out. when we arrived, the place was packed -- which was good for the restaurant, but not so great for the diners. the noise was ear-splitting. the acoustics in this place are awful. i couldn't hear my dinner mates across the table, i couldn't hear myself think. i hadn't even read the menu before we decided to leave in search of a quieter place. the food looked fantastic, so we were disappointed to go. but we really couldn't imagine enduring the cacophony for an entire hour.

another word of warning: there's no parking lot at the restaurant, and the parking situation in this neighborhood is horrific. after driving around several blocks and finding not a single spot, i finally opted for an illegal space.

i'd recommend rockcreek if you are in a very boisterous mood, have a pair of earplugs in your pocket and if you get there on your bicycle, on foot or via public transportation. don't go there in search of an intimate, cosy dining experience.

impressive. thoroughly (and surprisingly) impressed by not only the breadth and depth of the menu -- from plenty of oyster options to an almost overwhelming array of fish offered in all sorts of preparations -- but more importantly the quality of the seafood underlying it all. can't miss items include the sake oyster shooter, the hamachi crudo, and the dungeness crab relleno, all of which are unique yet simple in their own way. the calamari "karry-out" is also worth a gander. and the dessert and cocktail menus reflect the restaurant's commitment to ensuring your dining experience is solid throughout. highly recommended.

service was very attentive for such a recently opened restaurant and the atmosphere is lively. overall, i appreciated that they cooked seafood well. they did try some fresh approaches and while i’m not sure they all wow-ed, they certainly were at a mild success. there’s lots to try on the menu, so i’ll be back with more fish lovers in tow, but i am definitely having more dessert.

the oven roasted barron point oysters with toasted fennel, garlic, and pastis butter were plump umami pillows with intriguing licorice notes. the accompanying lemon wedges should not be ignored, however, because a squeeze from them adds a refreshing layer of acidity that elevates this dish above the level of louisiana dive bar good to pacific northwest really good.

root vegetable and beet hash, with poached hen eggs and broken beet vinaigrette (pictured above) was perhaps my favorite dish. it’s an unconventional choice for me, as it doesn’t contain any meat, but the earthy flavors were fine and i enjoyed the beet-flavored vinaigrette that pulled the dish together.

seafood heaven. i had dinner here last night and wow, amazing dining experience. great atmosphere, great staff and yum. it is a bit on the pricey side, but worth every penny. i had an amazing tuna crudo with a walla walla onion relish, the sardine salad, a super smooth syrah and ended the evening with a "to die for" deconstructed key lime pie in a small mason jar. totally enjoyed my 2 hour culinary adventure.
