great fun place. lots of fun minus the wait and loud music!

regulars only please.... u get seated in order of importance , after you get on the list. you don't know the 3 hostess girls .. you wait . they are also doing the "miami wait" - 7 open tables but there still is a 15 - 20 min wait for seating - for the riff raff only of course. food is decent for south fla mexican

great place very poor customer service. waitress was fantastic. she appologized over an over for the hostess

guacamole coma. by far the best mexican restaurant i have ever been at! i ordered the taco salad and it was not only delicious, but filling as well. i highly recommend ordering the guacamole as an appetizer. it is created completely from scratch and prepared directly in front of you. you can choose from mild, medium or hot as well. it was so good my friends and i had to order 2 more servings of it!

reservations, management.. needs work. i made a reservation for the rocco's tacos on las olas for a saturday at 6:30 for 12 people, 2 weeks ahead of time. i was promised the table in a side room away from the main dining room since as of that moment no one else had made a reservation for that room which can only hold 12 people max. (at least that was what i was told). i received a call the day of the reservation a few hours early to confirm my reservation at 6:30. at this point all was going well. we get there early, 6:00, and first the hostess asks us if we changed our reservation from 6:30 to 7:00 and the table in the side room, which we were promised was already taken. obviously that was a little strange and annoying since she called me hours earlier to confirm a 6:30 reservation! then, the manager (whom doesn't look above the age of 25) scrambles to get another table ready. so... we wait.... 15 minutes later we get what seems like a nice booth set up, where 2 booths were put together in the middle of the noisy dining room none the less, and as the rest of our party arrives we proceed to sit down and find that there is not enough room (oh and before i forget to mention there is a huge hole where the booths connect, so if you are the ones sitting on the inside its quite uncomfortable). at this point another person from my party, goes to speak with the manager to tell him we don't have enough room and he suggested pulling up another table. well that would have been great, but there was a party sitting there already so i am not sure how possible that was. so, we order and move on with our "nice" dinner out. upon waiting for dinner, i make my way for the bathroom and notice a string of tables put together... empty, waiting to be sat for a big party and i think to myself "why did we not get this set up?". so a little upset, i go back to the manager to express my annoyance at the reservation, table setup, etc. fasco and he didn't even know who i was. mind you, it is busy, but how many parties of 12 were there that they had screwed up that night?! he proceeds to be argumentative and not helpful. all he can say when i tell him that there really isn't enough room there for 12 people is, "well i offered to pull a table up next to your table" (this was was the table i talked about earlier that already had people stitting at it) and "i sat a party of 12 there the night before and they didn't have a problem with it". there was no sorry, no help in any other accomadations, just a big shrug and with actually saying "i don't care", he eminated i don't care. and upon leaving didn't even look up from the hostess stand to acknowledge that we were leaving. now, with all of that being said, and the fact that i feel a little jaded, i do like rocco's tacos. i go to the boca one all of the time that is off of military trail. the guac is excellent and atmosphere different. i won't stop going but i will not have a big dinner party there again, especially for the location on las olas. i am not even sure i will go the las olas location again if the same manager continues to work there.

go for the experience. fun atmosphere and beautiful people, good music and nice decor. food was good, not great. i had the yucatan combo of shredded chicken verde enchillada and two steak soft tacos. the tacos got wet in the enchilada sauce. the server was not attentive, bringing our chips and salsa (also just okay) at the same time as our meal and not refilling our drinks until he brought the check. friend had three steak tacos which he felt were "fair" and red sangria which he did not care for. a nice experience, but not for the service. be prepared to sit awhile. prices were fair, but you're paying to eat on las olas. this location has city parking around the corner on 14th street for $0.75 an hour on a sunday.

expensive and wayyyy overrated!. i was down in south florida visiting friends this past weekend. they were talking up rocco's and i have heard great things about it from other south florida friends, so i wanted to give it a try. we originally arrived at 11:00pm on saturday night to a 45-minute wait. we were starving, so we left. we went back on sunday night at 9:00pm and there was a short wait. the fact that people would wait to eat at this restaurant is ridiculous!

they charge you $3.00 for salsa. now, if the salsa was good i would not be complaining. but, it wasn't! it is pretty standard in mexican restaurants in this country to give you complimentary chips and salsa. so, the $3.00 charge was surprising. i ordered the yucatan (a chicken enchilada and two skirt steak soft tacos) for $16.00. i requested no lettuce, but the server obviously was not paying attention because they had lettuce on them. it did not even come with any rice and beans. i was completely underwhelmed with the dish and for the price i expected more. we also ordered the homemade guacamole prepared table-side for $12.00. cantina laredo does the same thing and it is only $9.00 there and better! the server did not even prepare the guacamole at the table. a gentleman who did not speak english prepared it on a dirty cart that was brought out from the kitchen and had dirty dishes on the middle shelf!

i imagine our server gets by on his good looks. i mean, he was not incredibly bad. but, he was not attentive either. we sat for a very long time without a chips and salsa refill and before he even took our order.

i am so confused as to why this place is so busy and popular. it is loud, expensive, the food is mediocre, and the service is eh. i am sure it is because the residents of south florida have no idea what a good restaurant is. they just want to think they look good at a trendy place. i fell for this trap once. but, not again. i will not be back. south florida, you should demand better!

food okay, better for drinks. visited this location on our way to the beach with a family of eight. it's great that they have a kids menus while offering a trendy "fun" atmosphere.
the food is okay for the price but this is more of a restaurant "to see and be seen" as the crowd, bar and atmosphere are more trendy. the price, $3.95 per carne asada taco, is crazy as you can visit a taqueria and pay half that for more flavor.
all in all, i would only visit again if i was to hit the bar for drink and appetizers.

rocco's, schmacos. i have been to the las olas location twice since it finally opened. i understand that it's new to the neighborhood and yes, they stay busy, but i'm being kind by calling the service sub-par. both times it took forever for us to even be acknowledged by a server after being seated. the food took forever, and the guacamole came out pre-made. salsa was bland, chips uninspired. we gave it a second chance, thinking that since they were so new, the bugs were being worked out. same scenario all around. i recommend cantina laredo at gulfstream park for their tableside guacamole -- it's more authentic, they do a simply fabulous presentation, and it just tastes better! the courteous, attentive service at cl is also head-and-shoulders above rocco's, as is the value for your money.

in summary: poor value for the money, and super-sucky service. we won't be back, even though it's very conveniently located (just 5 blocks from my home). we'll drive the 30 minutes to cantina laredo in hallandale.

for advertising themselves as a taco joint you'd think they'd get that right. i tried pork, beef and chicken soft tacos. first, seems like they pulled all the meat out of a wet bucket. each taco left a lake on my plate, soaking all the other tacos. the pork and chicken tacos were so-so. the beef taco, no words can explain how unpleasing it was. there was so much cilantro on all my tacos that it was all you could taste. no bueno. i've been here twice now because you should always something twice. third time is not a charm for me. the only food worth buying is the overpriced guacamole which is freshly prepared in front if you, sometimes. when it's busy they make it across the room. the night i went it was so loud in there you had to yell at your dinner party. they had a dj playing music so loud it made someone in my dinner party sick. there was no dance floor and a small bar, what need was there for dj?!? i could say alot more but i think you get the point, thumbs down to roccos tacos. they should just turn it into a bar-club.

not impressed at all!. this was not great. the food was expensive and bland. it was all so pedestrian and heavy and yuck. zona fresca is better than this for a fraction of the cost and it is a fast food place. someone plzzz open a great mexican place with fresh, tasty food. pllllzzzz!!

these tacos rock!. rocco's tacos is a great place for lunch, dinner date, happy hour or group dinners. the atmosphere is amazing w/ a full liquor bar and teqila bar. they have many types of tacos to choose from. i had the skirt steak taco, fish taco and the spicy beef. the skirt steak had great flavor, just a little bit over cooked, as for the spicy beef, i would give it 3 out of 5 stars...the fish taco was the shining star of the tacos! it was blacken mahi and all of the tacos are dressed w/ lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro and queso fresca cheese. the chips and salsa may be the best i've ever had! please visit rocco's tacos when you are in ft. lauderdale! happy eats!!

not impressed at all. the guacamole was good but expensive. drinks were strong but expensive. the rest of the food was average and expensive.

when my boyfriend and i arrived to this restaurant we asked for an order of guacamole, the waiter asked us if we wanted some chips and salsa to which we agreed. i asked for a frozen strawberry margarita ( the waiter got me one on the rocks, not big deal, they blended it) we got some tacos later on and the quality of the food was mediocre at best. the food was bland, did not like the chips, guacamole was ok to say the least ($12) the salsa seemed that had been made ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator. we have been in quite a few mexican restaurants in the west and east coast and this one was a big disappointment... if u are a mexican food lover and know quality mexican food, coming here will be dfininetly disappointing, not to mention the overpriced drinks and to our surprise they charged us for the chips and salsa, which are usually complimentary. when the waiter offered us the chips and salsa failed to mention there was a price for it). not worth your money!

pitchers are not worth the buzz. 4 of us had 3 pictures of cadillac margaritas and 3 shots of heradura each. for some reason we did not get a buzz maybe they are water down? not really worth the 30 dollars there a they were not.the food was really good quality and done proper . overall it a really fun place packed with young adventurous crowd
