hit or miss. i had fiasco samples at a few food events and the flavours were not great. however, my husband loves the frozen hot chocolate and some of the fruit flavours are good. others, not so much: the salted caramel is vile. i am pretty sure they use bottled torani coffee syrup, which tastes nothing like caramel. it's the only ice cream i have ever purchased that i considered throwing out. their homemade marshmallows look great but can be super grainy. they make a rose flavour which i was excited for because i will go out of my way for anything with rose oil, but they add so much that it's almost too strong to eat and tastes greasy. the consistency of thegelatois always good but they have to work on their flavours and stop using packaged flavourings. i've had several that aren't very good at all, which, for the price, is not cool. village ice cream is only a bit more pricey and far better.

thegelatois unbelievable! you just have to go try it - salted caramel, mango pineapple, frozen hot chocolate (with tiny frozen marshmallows in it)! the factory is a cafe too. the folks that work there are cool!

fiasco gelato- packaging: beautiful. great font, clear pint container in pete plastic.   gelato: a decent amount of  vanilla bean bits in madagascar vanilla, but flavour was surprisingly bland.   the colour and texture were opaque-  more like sorbet- not creamy, not dense, not rich. cost: very pricey for what you get.  a mediocregelatowith a premium price.

my sister is the one that introduced me to fiascogelatowhen she brought it over for dinner one night. since then, i’ve been dying to check out their main headquarters. we finally made it out on an early sunday evening. cute slogan: you can buy happiness. the inside is huge! they’ve got pints to take home, merch (their socks are pretty cute) and agelatoflavour suggestion box. someone make avocado mango please!

fiascogelatohas been a staple for me when i go to conventions and shows at the bmo. i like to try their different flavours ofgelatoand sorbetto.  the dining area in the front is small, but i think people don't usually dine in or stay that long. i like how you can see into the kitchen area. they also have an academy which they run in the evenings to teach people how theirgelatoare made. it looks very hands-on and you get to bring all thegelatohome. the price is a little steep, but i think it would be worth it. i just need some friends to do this with me.
i have been to the cafe a couple of times to buy their pints. recently, i have decided to dine in and try one of that sandwiches and take out a sundae. on an interesting note, one of co-workers saw an article online from the daily hive, "62 things to eat and drink in calgary before you die", published in june of this year. fiascogelatois on the list with their frozen hot chocolate.

hello my name is deanna and i am agelatoaddict.. some people smoke, some drink, some gamble and i eat fiasco gelato. my freezer is full! there are so many amazing kinds i just can't decide and buy them all. creative flavours, made with quality ingredients in small batches, less fat than ice cream and priced better than ben and jerry's- how can you go wrong?!

the most amazing mango!. fiasco's truck was at global fest this year and i seriously went everynight to get the mango gelato. so refreshing and so flavourful, i thought i was bitting into a mango! the staff are super friendly and have a great sense of humour. i recommend theirgelatoand gang to anyone!

too cool for gelato. a few months ago i enjoyed some lovelygelatoat the anderson lrt station. i was served by a very friendly chap who offered me a sample of his freshestgelatobefore i even had to ask. was craving some tonight so decided to hunt fiasco down with my hubby in crowfoot for some after dinner treats. unfortunately my trip was not so delightful this occasion. we decided on a waffle with the s'mores ice cream and a lemonade. as we waited for our waffle to cook (which came out half-raw), i was given a cup with lemon juice and ice (no berries as advertised) and told i could fill it up from the water tap (looked like the hose connection) by the tires. he also had put way to much syrup in it, had to refill and water it down three times. what is that?! once we got the half raw waffle, sad to see for the extra $3 we had three tablespoons of gelato. thegelatois very tasty, but not the best value. most definitely will not be hunting fiasco down again.

wow this year at the calgary stampede has been a hot one, best weather i’ve seen for this time of year in a long time, which makes this day 7 blog post even more fitting. if you don’t know whatgelatois, check it out here www.fiascogelato.ca. in short, it’s gourmet ice cream, made in small batches with the finest ingredients. sorry fiasco, i know not to call it ice cream, but for the people who don’t know what it is, it’s the easiest way to describe it.

i love gelato, and i love our street food - food trucks in calgary! this is one of the few food trucks i've made an effort to visit numerous times! i think fiascogelatomaybe my favourite food truck right now - if i'm allowed to say that.

new and very much improved! try it!. i had desert last night at the new and very much improved fiaso gelato. for those who don't know this, fiasco has been taken over by a new owner who has retained some of the original aspects (like the branding) but almost everything is new. thegelatois much better, with more flavours, more creativity; for example i had an anisegelatothat was just incredible and not something i've ever seen before. sorbetti are gorgeous too. they also have cupcakes from buttercream and a raft of panini on offer (i think they have 6 on the menu). the plan is to stay open year-round now, not to close winters anymore. please check it out if you haven't recently!
